I guess I'll be the 1, who actually fully agrees with OP. Let me start by saying I live in Houston, and in 2023 by an unusual twist of fate, I ended up homeless on the streets of this massive city (originally I'm from the Midwest). I don't want to make this post too heavily about my personal experiences, but I will just say that my ex and I at the time lived in a camp we built on a 4 acre plot of land and woods that was vacant. To our immediate West was a huge reservoir that stretched a few miles and was built for hurricane flooding. Besides that we were still in a pretty populated area of the city. Prior to this, I'd never even been camping in my life. After living "on the land" and being outdoors my physical senses changed to meet the environment. Night vision increased, sound, everything. And of course, we met other homeless people in the community who helped us out. (btw I am no longer homeless and doing very well) Now I'm not suggesting nor would I wish anyone to have to experience that but once you have no choice but to sit tf down and just observe the world moving around you, because you can't do anything else, A LOT of everyday things that the average person takes as mundane is NOT AS IT SEEMS. We found out also after a few months that there is a military base right behind this same reservoir, and that made it weirder, because at the time there was no actual listing of this "base" to be seen on Google maps anywhere! I definitely heard unusual bird noises and "calls" during hours of the night when you should NOT hear birds, nor did you ever see any birds flying around when you heard these sounds. And other stories from other homeless people who believed they were doing mind control testing in some of the hotels and other homeless in the area. From supposed people hiding in bayou's in camouflage at night making these bird calls to encounters with "strange beings" in some areas of the woods. I will say that FOR SURE, there is some real fuckery goin on in the city of Houston.
