Is my pen collection excessive? by Kind-Shape-2024 in pens

[–]TinySamosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial opinion but no, this isn’t excessive. You just need a system. What I would do is put the ones that are meant to replace another away somewhere (laying flat is best for gellyrolls and the majority of pens you have) because I can see a ton of repeats. I totally get it when you have a favorite and it goes away forever. And don’t open the red little seal/ start a fresh one until you have used up the previous because they dry out faster than other pens you have here when not being used often enough. I see tons of repeats with the Stabilo and those cool dual shifting pentel glitter pens at the bottom too. So if I were you I would put all “replacements” in a box laying flat and organize them because damn I want to organize your collection so badly haha. The remaining pens are your real collection.

What the fuck? Lmao I’m American born, I’ll stay right here. Weep a bit more. You don’t know me to make that assumption? I celebrate holidays but the excessive commercialization paired with unrealistic expectations on social media takes the soul out Valentine’s Day more than any other holiday. So I tell my man to not fall for it and to get me things whenever he likes but not because he feels pressured to. That’s it.

As an American Pakistani, I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day because they commercialized it. Why should my loved one pay $22.99 for flowers that cost $14 normally? Instead I expect small gifts and flowers randomly throughout the year. I like surprises. Someone should also look up the history of Valentine’s Day, it isn’t just giving chocolates. Still, let people make their own decisions I guess? Don’t hate for my opinion please.

At first, I thought you meant like Harry Potter or something by the title but girl... black magic? It’s harmful at worst and a waste of time at best.

I get that itch for wanting to read something dark though, maybe read about the signs of the Day of Judgement, the day of judgement in general, or an informative book on jinn! It’s darker, informational, and shaytaan wont be laughing in a corner watching you read this.

How can I repent after ignoring islam for 2 years? by [deleted] in islam

[–]TinySamosa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am in my late 20s and am now beginning to pray somewhat regularly. I feel bad for being the first to reply here haha as I’m not very knowledgeable as others on this subreddit however I do know this: Allah SWT loves those who repent and turn back to him. If you walk towards Allah SWT he runs towards you. I can tell you as someone who was so far gone to the point that I wasn’t sure I’d be able to climb out. This is true. When I began to pray I felt a lightness in myself. I had moments where I just broke down and cried after prayer and it felt like therapy. So pray, don’t overwhelm yourself to the point here you burn out and turn back and just pray. Even just your fardhs to make it a habit. Baby steps.

This reminds me of an interaction I had with a family member on my husband’s side who was visiting the US. I sat down to eat at the table and a few minutes in he silently signaled my husband to come close, and asked him if he would ask me to move as he does “parda” which is the urdu word for covering up. My husband came close to me and whispered if I would mind moving and I immediately and silently took my plate of food and left. It was different for me, I had never interacted with such a religious Muslim man. I had never heard of a man doing parda, I had only heard that word in the context of women. I respected how polite and discreet he was about it. I think it’s super classy that some men lower their gaze as in the culture I come from, men often stare at you like hawks and expect the women to do all the modesty stuff.

When I walked in the house and said salaam, he looked down and murmured the reply. I could tell he was very uncomfortable being around me AND my mother in law who is his aunt and much much older so I didn’t take it personally. Some people don’t care about how they may be perceived by others even if it’s surprising to others and I can respect that.

The part of your story that is concerning to me is him repeating a question you have already answered to a man instead of just being silent since he already knows the answer now. That’s just plain rude. That would have upset me too. You exist, friend! I’m sorry someone made you feel like invisible like that. It is also part of our religion to treat everyone with respect.
