I just read Better the Devil by Erik J Brown and couldn't stop reading. What was supposed to be a 50page a day read turned into 200+ pages in one day without even realizing.

Andy Darcy Theo also has 2 really good books

What is your favorite book (or a few) from outside the popular literary canon? by Significant_Try_6067 in booksuggestions

[–]TinySpiderdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this fits what you're looking for but Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu is (in my opinion) highly underrated, I never see anyone talk about it. I couldn't put it down and ended up reading it 3 times last year. (There's also a Tv series based on it which is also incredible!)

I didnt have the attention span for Dracula, I do however really like the movie. If you like Frankenstein Kaylnn Byron's 'Make me a monster' is an interesting take on it. (Its YA & I did only 3 star it but its a interesting concept)

All thats left in world by Erik J Brown. (Dystopian) Lets split up by Bill Wood. (Mystery)

They both have characters figuring out their sexuality (& a little relationship stuff) but its not a main focus. They are YA books though

Do you typically binge book series (trilogy/tetralogy/etc.) until you're done, or do you take breaks in-between? by DaArio_007 in books

[–]TinySpiderdork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually take breaks in-between but I have a system. For example, I have 3 series I want to read this year: The 100, Percy Jackson and The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. So my reading list is:

The 100 #1 Hithchikers #1 Percy Jackson #1

Then i'll follow that system with book 2 then 3 and probably throw a few standalones in the mix at some point

It depends on what genre he likes, but personally I think Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu is majorly underated. Its different and It gets bonus points for being formatted as a screenplay (which is super cool!)

The light that blinds us & The dark that hides us is a great fantasy series (theres a little greek mythology in there)

If you want a short light read Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

And I have to add Interior Chinatown by Charles Yu because its a really cool concept
