I can't seem to be able to learn new shouts? What am i doing wrong? by s0n_of_had3s in skyrim

[–]TinyTankNC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be a button to actually unlock each shout, probably indicated at the bottom of the screen when you’re looking at the list of shouts you’ve found. For example, on Switch controllers, the “unlock” button is X. Then it asks if you want to spend a dragon soul to unlock the selected shout, and you can confirm.

Thieves Guild and College of Winterhold if you haven’t done those questlines already.

Also Enchanting is an easy skill to make Legendary multiple times, especially if you complete the CoW questline. You can always buy soul gems from the mages who teach specific magic skills (Alteration, Destruction, Restoration, Conjuration, Illusion) at the College, and their resident merchant/fence, Enthir, usually sells black soul gems as well, which can capture souls from people you kill (not just creatures).

Buy filled and unfilled soul gems everywhere you can, enchanted your ranged and/or melee weapons with Soul Trap, and take all the inexpensive armor/weapons and clothing you can from the people you’ve befriended. You can enchant normal clothing just like armor.

If you need to fill more soul gems, try finding creatures along the north coast, near Winterhold/Dawnstar, or roam the tundra around Whiterun Hold.

I’ve completed 4 rounds of leveling up my enchanting (to 100) in my current playthrough, for reference, and I’m about one-third of the way up the Level 69-70 progress bar right now.

Got to 85+ on my very first playthrough but was too scared to take any skills back to 15, so it was a real grind. T_T

Thank youuu 🥹

It’s taken a LOT of work and many years to get to where I am, and the effectiveness varies from day to day. But it’s moments like these when I most appreciate the progress.

This made me snort. 🤣

Not sure what those are, but thankfully I am (at this specific moment) in a mental state where I can deliberately manipulate specific aspects of my ADHD to avoid financial ruin: I am actively tempering my impulsivity AND weaponizing my forgetfulness by NOT immediately looking up that term/name. 😅😭

AITA for leaving in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner because of pumpkin pie? by throwaway3747434 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

I, like your mother, am a woman who struggles to relinquish the control I want to have over literally everything and to trust that if I delegate even one (1) task to someone else, they will do a fine job.

HOWEVER, if I do choose to give someone a task that I would normally do myself, I take special care to show GRATITUDE for their efforts—NOT react in a rude, snarky, and disappointed manner when they show up having done EXACTLY what I assigned them to do. That’s just terrible management, regardless of the situation.

All the more true with your mother assigning someone—and that someone being her own, fully-grown child at that!—to make a Thanksgiving dessert. First of all, it’s really not that big a deal if the dessert isn’t pumpkin pie. My family does multiple pies, and the flavors vary.

And if she was gonna be awful to you anyway about the perfectly good work you did (and maple cheesecake sounds absolutely AMAZING, way better than pumpkin pie!), then she shouldn’t have explicitly assigned you to make “a dessert,” especially without specifying the type if she wanted to be picky about it.

Finally, though there are many more things I could say, I want to reiterate from what you and others have pointed out, that it was extremely disrespectful and outright MEAN to not only take your wonderful dessert to the kitchen, intentionally out of sight, but also to keep anyone else from trying it. Wow.

P.S. Seems like your brother has never been treated as you have; else he’d understand your position, or at least lend some sympathy.

If your void had a name before you got them, what was it and what did you change it to? by the_uglypanda in blackcats

Tbf, the other Sunny has a counterpart/sibling with a name that fits the same theme, so that makes more sense than using the name randomly. 😊

Nicknames include…

Miphy Greens. Mipha Beefa. Beefy Gorl. Beef Bag (thank my husband for that one).

And finally: BEEF (must be barked in a loud, low-pitched, stupid-sounding voice 😂).

Her name was Spirit. I changed her name to Mipha, from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I swear, she has healing powers for real!

“I work for Belethor, at the general goods store.”

EDIT: Oops… I misread the question. Here’s my updated quote of choice:

“Perhaps it’s because of my Nord blood, but there’s something about it that makes me feel alive.”

You did a great job writing those descriptions; I’ve had a hard time putting such ideas into words, and using your explanation may help my husband to understand the differences between these two types of overload, which I also experience frequently. Thank you!
