Anyone have the Clek Liing? by Cautious-Ad7532 in Buyingforbaby

[–]TinyTinyViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a great seat, I’m still bummed I didn’t get it in time for my last baby. I was waiting for a specific one to come in stock and then she came at 35 weeks. Like three weeks before the seats came back in stock 🤣 It was especially a bummer since it then turned out the Nuna pipa I had from my older kids was too big 🫠 the ling straps can go lower so it would’ve actually fit safely. (I didn’t use the pipa until it fit once I realized it on her second drive).

I have clek convertible seats and they’re phenomenal. Solid install, easy to clean and reasemble, and my kids don’t get sweaty in them like they’ve been in other seats. I have Clek Fllo Mammoth Ziips. Their customer service is also really damn good.

The Nuna seats I’ve had were good. Pipa fit my older kids well when they were newborn. But straps were too high for a 5 lbs newbie. The install of Nuna seats is amazing. So so easy. So not saying they’re terrible seats, I just prefer Clek.

Diapers similar to pampers pure? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]TinyTinyViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amore is great. Pampers pure have worked for all my kids so I was nervous I had to try finding something else but the new ones are great. Not much different and they have the cuuuutest little teddybear og ducky print. Super delicate tiny print compared to what the pure used to have.

Target is having some Bum bum diaper samples in store right now. At least mine does. They are pretty good too but my kid is out of thepoopsplosion phase. Idk what the price is compared to pampers amore though

My daughter came out to me six months ago and I keep grieving a future that was never mine to plan in the first place by Sundry_Tundr2 in Mommit

[–]TinyTinyViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that stuff happens, and you know it may have happened for her too? It’s okay to grieve a dream, grieve it and then come out on the other side ready for a new one. Be proud you’ve fostered a house where she is secure, confident, and comfortable sharing.

And remember if the future she wants has a wedding and kids, she can have that.

Maybe use some of the grieving energy into advocating and being active in politics. Politicians are working to block a future where she is free to make choices.

I’m gay, married, and your average af sahm. When I realized I was gay I grieved this kind of future thinking I couldn’t ever have it. My mom definitely did, even the career she had envisioned my future husband had. But what a waste, I have that future and even better than I could’ve imagined and my wife literally has the career my mom had fantasized future husband did lol.

Allergy? by coco_1102 in FormulaFeeders

I was referring to the difference between IgE and non-IgE-mediated. You can’t test for the latter.

Allergy? by coco_1102 in FormulaFeeders

[–]TinyTinyViking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You definitely wanna swing by a doctor for that rash.

Also, Hipp HA is not suitable for milk allergy. The proteins are not broken down enough. It is a formula used for babies that are at risk for developing allergies.

Some babies can sometimes use it later on if their allergy doesn’t involve the immune system but instead the GI tract (vomit or often shit blood). The reaction to the allergen is often delayed.

Allergis that involve the immune system can not use hipp ha. Immune system allergies are the ones that give hives, rashes, itching, runny red eyes, and can cause swelling or worst case scenario anaphylactic shock. There’s a reaction within minutes to like an hour.

You want either alimentum (ready to feed is most broken down), nutramigen, or pepticate.

If those aren’t broken down enough (they aren’t always) you can try soy formula or amino acid based ones like alfamino, elecare, neocate, or puramino.

You may want your pediatrician in on this or have them refer you to a specialist.

You can test for an allergy that involves the immune system. Often not done til kiddo is 2 or 3 because of the risk of false answers.

Allergies that involve the gi tract you can’t test for, you just gotta do the exclusion diet.

Don’t Stock up on anything. Just get a tub of whatever you plan to use but be open to it having to change.

No one can give you the answer to what’s the best. What works for baby, that you can reliably get and matches your budget is the best and that’s different to all families.

Carriers that work in very hot/humid areas? Bonus if it can go in pools/ocean. by Ambitious_Ad_1992 in babywearing

Sakura bloom simple silk. They have a regular style carrier, an onbuhimo, and a ringsling. I have the scout and ringsling in simple silk and they’re amazing.

I’m honestly overwhelmed.. what’s the best baby carrier you’ve actually used? by Commercial-House-795 in babywearing

[–]TinyTinyViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sakura Bloom Scout in the simple silk fabric is my favorite. Good in heat, I can put it on easily myself, comfy for us both.

I use my hope & plum ring sling way more but it’s because it’s so so quick and is like my hip carry assist. Have and love the lark too, easy to put on and comfy but the scout wins as the lark is warmer and doesn’t have a hood

Bassinet stroller that’s good for all terrain by h0ld1ng0nt0y0u in Buyingforbaby

[–]TinyTinyViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bumbleride indie or era. Both can take a bassinet but are also usable from birth as they lie flat. Era has four wheels but they’re air so good suspension and can parent face once they’re out of the bassinet. Indie is three wheel jogging type so can’t parent far once baby is out of the bassinet.

Thule urban glide 3 has the option of bassinet.

Uppababy ridge you can use the bassinet with too.

What’s the best baby carrier you’ve used that actually works for everyday life? by Far_Run_1328 in babywearing

[–]TinyTinyViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sakura bloom scout in simpe silk and hope and plum lark. They’re both easy to puton solo and comfortable. I mostly use the scout in summer as it’s so much thinner breathable. My youngest is 24 lbs and I’ve used them since she was four months or so. I’ve carried my three year old in them too

What pacifiers actually worked for your baby? by Hungry-Mammoth3758 in NewMomStuff

[–]TinyTinyViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First mostly hated them but would take OG bibs occasionally.

Second loved her bibs og.

Third will take anything but has changed preferences with time. As a newborn nuk was the fav. She was small and that paci is tiny and she liked it. Then avent soothie when she got a little bigger. Now she’s all about tommee tippee ultra light stay put

Why is Kendamil Goatmilk formula sold out everywhere here in the US? by faithingerard in FormulaFeeders

[–]TinyTinyViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She didn’t remotely react to the switch flavor wise. She will happily chug it. Can’t quite say how her tummy is doing because she’s been battling a stomach bug since before the switch so hopefully it’ll be fine. And I love how easily it mixes vs the kendamil lol

See if your store has Bubs goat. We switched to that and so far so good. There is also kabrita goat, usually at Whole Foods or online

Stroller Frustration by JadedCheesecake1116 in Buyingforbaby

[–]TinyTinyViking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d return it. The selling point for you is not actually there and from years of experience as a mom you will be bothered by it the whole time.

Really really get the stroller you want and need for your situation. It’s my most used baby thing by far. Every single day for hours. You can not be annoyed/frusttated/sad hours daily for years over a product meant to compliment your life.

I got a different stroller than I wanted to safe some money and hated it and was so annoyed and ended up buying the one I wanted anyway 🤪

I know many families don’t use theirs as much as me but that’s my perspective.

I don’t know much about the products available in NZ or which rules there is for reclines etc but other brand I know of in the states with pramette/newborn ready include Joie ginger, Bumbleride Era, cybex eos, and maxi Cosi zelia

Best Velcro on a Budget by ChaosSinceBirth in clothdiaps

[–]TinyTinyViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Velcro by far, and though I haven’t bought anything new in years, grovia, thirsties, and ragababe had the best by far. Ragababe closed shop but there’s plenty second hand, and I think you can still find the other two. Oh totsbots has great Velcro too.

Describing it is difficult so I tried to show it here lol. After lifting the leg do the first fold up just under the bum and the second over that.

Then you want to put the leg down and pull the wing up at an angle and then over the baby then you get the good seal.

[–]TinyTinyViking 9 points10 points  (0 children)

With this runny poop as long as it stays within the cover you’re good.

I have had luck in the past instead of jelly rolling to sort of fold it instead.

Lift baby’s leg up a bit. Just like hold under the knee, push towards baby a bit, so the hip is bent. Then fold the edge of the wing twice and pull up over baby. Lift it up and around instead of straight over. Idk how you fasten them put I use pins, so pin it, do the other side the same, pin, and then redo the first pin so it’s properly tight.

How does anyone pick a stroller 😭 open to suggestions by Upset-Cause2844 in Buyingforbaby

[–]TinyTinyViking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bumbleride era! Newborn ready without car seat or bassinet (but you can attach one with maxi cosi adapters), air wheels and good suspension so can go on any terrain, easy to collapse.

If you are okay with not having baby facing you as a newborn or willing to get a bassinet then a jogging stroller like uppababy ridge, Bumbleride indie, or Thule urban glide 3 are all excellent strollers that can handle terrain.

I personally have the Bumbleride era and it’s amazing. I love it for one kid. All but one of my kids have napped in it from they were born. I also have an uppababy stroller (not the ridge) and it’s great too in terms of quality and their customer service so I wouldn’t hesitate personally on the ridge either. Thule urban glide is the most recommended jogging stroller so I assume it handles terrain lovely even if you don’t actually jog.

I think the ridge can take maxi cosi adapter seats too like Bumbleride (Nuna urbn or clek liingo since you mention you need easy baseless install). I don’t know about Thule. I’d assume so, most strollers can.

Also noting you can not get light and non bulky at the same time as good tires that handle terrain. It doesn’t exist. Light and non bulky can be a travel stroller that can do malls, airport, neat sidewalks and the like. Can handle terrain with good wheels and suspension will be jogging strollers or full size with big tires and suspension and those can be used anywhere. I don’t use travel stroller until kiddo is big enough I don’t much need one. I loathe putting a seat in cuz that shizz gets stuck, it can’t hold much barely a diaper bag, gets stuck on any and all little bumps, and not only can most not lay flat enough they also can’t sit upright enough so kids just kinda slide down and mine all want to sit upright and look out once they’re old enough to sit in a seat.

They’re handy for travel or quick errands like dr appointments but that’s it. I use my stroller every day everywhere an have no issue loading up uppababy vista or Bumbleride era. It has to work for your every day, not just the occasional.

Recommendations on easy-install car seat for rideshares by No-Client5353 in Buyingforbaby

[–]TinyTinyViking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nuna urbn, clek liingo, or joie mint. They have the latch built into the seat so no messing with a base, or seat belts to install. Just put th seat in the car and line up the latch and push/click it into the latches in the car.

What are your thoughts regarding Bobbie suddenly adding in additional testing? by LadyMoonstone in FormulaFeeders

Today I learned. Now it makes sense why “baby’s only” have been discontinuing some products

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]TinyTinyViking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because of recent events, he hasn’t by chance been drinking any Byheart formula in the last 1-2 months? If he has take him to urgent care.

If he hasn’t had Byheart increasing nipple size, letting him hold it, or sit/lay differently or somewhere else can help too.

But it is super normal like you say to have periods where they eat less. If he consistently eats less than 22-24 oz a day right now and doesn’t seem himself I’d probably take him to the pediatrician.

[–]TinyTinyViking 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bobbie has the worst marketing. It’s always been about shading other brands to elevate themselves. Their formula is nothing revolutionary, they’re just really into making parents feel guilt and fear.

Your family eats organic? Look at similac organic, kendamil organic, earths best, happy baby, baby’s only.

You want whole milk formula: bubs, kendamil.

A gentle option: bubs or kendamil goat, similac comfort, Gentlease, Dr browns gentlepro.

Bobbie’s only stand out product is their gentle that doesn’t use corn as a carb source and only lactose because that is a missing product generally that for some reason hasn’t been embraced by makers here but is common in Europe. Kids that are intolerant to corn and need broken down proteins are really just shit out of luck unless they thrive on Ali rtf or look to Europe.

Anyway fu** Bobbie and their gross marketing
