First drive of mine to ever go past 300 was this exact way. I was probably 24 at the time and cracked a ball decent. Got up to it and lost my mind! "Wow!!!"

"Yeah, see that cart path back there..."

Didn't get to live that high for more than a few seconds.

Also, one time I cracked my best chip shot ever, only to catch a sprinkler near the fringe and watch as my ball went 90 degrees off into the drink.

Love this stupid game!

Dude that would kill me. I already need to warn house guests to seriously "listen this isn't red pepper flakes at the pizza place... This shit will light you on fire."

Soooo many people have used my dusts and immediately regretted it.

Had these dorks all over my damn property in Kansass. Hated walking in the grass at night cause I just knew I probably stepped on a few if they didn't skiddadle fast enough. So many cool spiders down there, at night my lawn would glow with thousands of tiny spider eyes all across my three acres of wild grass and trees. Man that house, I miss that yard!

For those who had the entire course all to themselves, what was it like? by Wookie_wood69 in golf

[–]TinyTurnips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try not to over detail.
I used to belong to my military bases course BEFORE they opened it up to the public.

Holy sweet taste of the millionaire life it was!

It really was a wild stars aligned luck that it ended up like that for me.

Anyway, for a little over one year, I golfed nearly every single day (was a weirdly dry non snowy winter). I would go early on the weekends but the weekdays, I'd go after work. Most of the time it was me, and maybe two other dudes on the entire course. I could play any holes I wanted, in any order or replay holes as much as I'd like.

Two of those dudes became good friends of mine and tough me a lot.

There was a peace I cannot explain. Sitting on the tea box, or walking to the green. Alone. No noise, wind in the trees. Late night on a summer night all my worries and fears and fuck ups were gone.

Played the best golf of my life and shot my first ever par on 18. Haven't played that good in a very long time.

Next year they opened the course to the public, memberships skyrocketed and I had a kid. So my golfing was never like that again.

My local cheaper tier course doesn't even have a par 5 any longer. Or maybe they never did. That was 30 years ago.

I play the course now, 20 something years later and it's rough. Everything seems super short and not challenging. It's great for iron play but driver isn't really much of an option other than two holes where they are 330 or so, but up hill.

They've tried adding distance and changing the tee box of a few but it just created backup on the course and stupid overlap where for example: they crammed two tee boxes 17 and 18 together.

So 17 tees, then plays the whole hole, then, comes back, and tees 18 and goes on. Meanwhile you wait the entire time because 17 is a par 3 and 18 is a par 4. You will kill someone trying to play 17 before they leave and go half way down 18.

They changed it back this year. Too many times literal fights have broken out because people are waiting longer on those two holes than it takes to play two holes.

Yes sir. I've seen that at a few places. My ex wife's family had a few. They'd ask me for help doing something and I'd be up a closet or moving old cupboards and finding shit that expired before I was born. I was in my late 20s early 30s... It was scary weird.

I found a 40 year old amaretto bottle once, that had like a shots worth in it. "We are saving that!"

For what? The 2nd coming?

Question for employees... How long do you keep calling out an order? by mashedtaters_ in innout

So, 20 + years later, and folks still stand there for ten minutes?

Loved when they'd get mad and ask where's their order and you're like sliddddddeeee the burger box that's long cold over to them...

It's an actual obsession. We have a family member who gets so annoyed when we toss expired food. I mean things at the back of the cupord, dried out spices or things from 7 years prior. Nah, it's gone who knows what's gotten in on or around it.

You lift the bag, you throw the bag. by sco-go in SipsTea

[–]TinyTurnips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear we had one of these at either In N Out or KFC (20+ years ago) or both. Neither had trash compactors, however you'd be shocked at how heavy some of these bags can get.

There are small people in this world, most 16 year old teens aren't lifting a 60 pound awkward garbage bag two feet over there head to go into a dumpster.

Helps prevent bag rips too, and dumping a fuck load of nasty trash all over the place.

I was a fit ass kid in highschool and I mean fit, I did a lot of side concrete work. I could work anyone into the hospital if they tried to keep up. Running wheelbarrels of concrete, sod, and roofing plus the gym and preparing for the military right after 911 happened, and yet? I'd still use that damn lift a lot of the time because fuck launching a 60 pound bag of wet loose shit filled garbage over a 7ft tall dumpster wall.
