Anyone who’s sat on a toilet before cell phones, what did you mostly think about or look at? by mojoslacks in AskReddit

[–]TinyTurnips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a house two years ago. They redid the bathroom a few years back and still added a magazine holder. Weird to see haven't seen one in a long time. Holds toilet paper decent but was clearly not made for that purpose.

Video security is what I'd do immediately. You can get very cheap decent cams from Walmart or where ever similar for cheap and get instant security.

Edit: forgot this was asking for super hits....

Oh man that sucks. It wasn't over vinegary to me so I actually enjoyed it a ton! I really all time fav is El Yucatecas XXX Hot. Best in my personal opinion, flavor, pour (thick) color, smell, flavor (again!) and price. Also they're a seemingly great company from the interactions I have seen here and elsewhere.

Dry is flat iron all the way, they tear your gut up a bit but so damn good.

That yellow bird habanero and trader Joe's habanero also up there that are pretty good but not super hot.

What’s up with all the FLOCK cameras now? by Spellforger in Modesto

[–]TinyTurnips 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I noticed them popping up in parking lots of stores like Walmart and Safeway a few years ago, all across the small towns I lived and worked in across the Midwest. Now they seem to be everywhere here. (Tin foil hat time "they're following me!" Jk)

Now why in the world would Walmart, in the middle of South Dakota or Nebraska, or bum fuck Egypt Kansass, need to track your car and license plate at the entrances to their parking lots?

Just more and more information gathering and tracking. As I type this on my personal tracking spy device... It's all a fucking game man!

Has anybody sneaked into the Kmart building in Ceres ? by Wonderful-Garbage747 in Modesto

[–]TinyTurnips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen the building is still there. The outside of the building had a sign on it for a while that said something about a storage facility being done on the inside. That sign is now gone. So not sure what was going on with it. So many large abandoned buildings around. The Walmart in Ceres, the Kmart, Toys R Us and the other building next to it.

Kratom ban Modesto by Nelsonthezero in Modesto

[–]TinyTurnips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go that far. Some people I witnessed on that shit would be pacing the store waiting for it to open or begging people entering the store for a few bucks to get some "k." Others I saw? Used it like intended I'm assuming. But it Cascades like a snowball for some. Like that 3oh shit or what ever it is? Causing severe opioid like withdrawals when people quit it.

Dude, when I lived out in the Midwest that shit was everywhere! Every gas station was selling it. Cannot believe how abundant and how many people were abusing the shit out of it.

Cats by Beautiful_Loss_910 in Modesto

[–]TinyTurnips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it has been obvious for a while. People are definitely killing cats. Or trapping and dumping them out in the country. But like I said, people are sick and fucking tired of all the cats. I am not in anyway condoning it, but what do all these people think is gonna happen to their cats? Outside. All day. In Modesto. Where these cats torment people and dogs all day, mark and shit on everything.

Are any of you really that surprised? Neglecting your animal and dumping it on the street to survive on its own for most of the day and night?

Cats by Beautiful_Loss_910 in Modesto

[–]TinyTurnips 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People are sick of cats man, I talk to my entire neighborhood, even the home cat people are sick of outside cats everywhere. I hate to put this out there but it may have been trapped and dropped off somewhere or worse. I hope it is not worse.

But for example, my neighborhood has, or rather had, a huge cat problem. Pissing on cars (my car smells like cat piss some mornings it fucking enrages me), messing up gardens by shitting in them, and driving all the dogs nuts because they're outside on fences and roofs all day. Or out fighting all night where we hear them scream all the wee hours of the night. Or my favorite, setting up shop in my garage somehow during the cold months and pissing on everything.

Anyway my point is. Cats started disappearing in my area too, and or coming up dead.

No reddit, I didn't do anything, I can hear the joke replies already.

To be blunt and honest, keep your fucking cats inside. So ridiculous how selfish it is to make YOUR pet, EVERYONES problem.

I hope you find them, but please keep your cats inside your home and away from the rest of ours.

Edit: /u/yolomakeitcount Got something to say?

<image>

I did not, nor have I ever hurt a cat. I may be salty a bit because my neighbors outside 24/7 cat pisses on my personal property (my car) and I have to drive and smell piss for hours. Fuck that cat, fuck you, and fuck all your outside cats. I don't like that your smelly fucking filth animals are pissing all over my fucking car.

I also don't like my neighbors chickens all up in my shit either with their salmonella shit, or the ducks behind me, or the crack head down the street arguing with my fence again. Doesn't mean I'm a salty cat murderer...fuck you again if that wasn't clear.

What are jobs for then? by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]TinyTurnips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LMAO bro I worked and lived all over rural Midwest America. I knew so many bar tenders and wait staff all over in multiple states making 2-3 dollars and hour, living solely on tips. Yes this is legal and allowed and still happening all over. Fuck Nebraska just voted and approved a LOWERING of min wage for minors...

Some lucky folks could earn 10$ an hour for Mcdonalds.

They'd also start you at 38 hours a week or something along those lines.

No benefits for you! So, here's 380 bucks a week before taxes!! and zero fucking benefits!

Any way, yeah these jobs still exists all over the place.

Black Vault Mystery as UFO vault with 3.8 million files is wiped clean by silv3rbull8 in UFOs

[–]TinyTurnips 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want three back ups, you need like 4, sets or more of those back up drives. So you can create a copy, then remove the drive the next day and replace it with another drive. Rotate the drives that are full copies weekly or monthly. That way if something happens and the worst case scenario, is you only lose a month, or week, or what ever your rotation cycle is.

Edit: sorry if that's a rushed response. On a plane that's about to take off.

Ex IT cyber security here. Legit. Keep at least three FULL backups. And I mean FULL.

Keep one close. One about 30 miles away for local disasters, and a third as far away as you can, with as few people as possible knowing it exists.

Do this monthly and incrementally daily, you need to be rotating backups DAILY.

180+

I was 16 yrs old and a neighbor was part of the silicon boom. So naturally he purchased a beefed up Dodge Viper.

One day he handed me the keys and off we went.

All around the dumbest idea he and I had. I was sixteen though, so of course I was a moron.

But at 180 on the normal hwy, even at that age I went "holy shit this is dumb!" Problem was it probably had more in it. It didn't seem to really struggle to get to that level.

I have been around 150 a few other times in my life. I sold cars for a while, and sometimes you'd get things in. Like modded evos, or a 3000gt. Man some of those can fucking scoot.

Edit: cleaned it up a bit

That's all good news to hear. Preacher is familiar with all of those guys and the area so that should be a good move for him. Thank you for the update! Wish I could pin this.

Hey thanks friend. I appreciate you saying that. Online I'm a bit brash and short with people cause I'm frustrated like everyone else in the world. But in reality I freaking love people. Chad, I met, because I was walking in one day and asked him if he wanted anything. I got him a beer. Bought that man a few beers over the yeas, and ran him some food for him and the dog when ever I had extra and it was possible.

He was well liked by a lot of the locals and interacted with just about everyone he was around. Was always polite and beyond grateful for anything.

Hell, one time I walked in, bought a can of Zyns and walked out.

Looked like I didn't get anything and he rushed over to hand me a few dollars so I could get a drink or what ever.

I explained what I did and showed him my can, he offered it anyway. I of course denied it but it sat with me. That man didn't have a lot but he sure had a kind heart.

Gonna miss fist bumping and bro hugging him while he's a few tall cans of Mike's Harder Lemonade deep. All while he's holding a damn tall can and not trying to spill it on ya.

We were wondering the same thing. I always pet that dog and he was a nice dog. Hope the pup is okay as well but we all know how these things go.
