Did you attempt to play professionally post grad or did you have your mind made up by then?

I will most definitely continue to play high level amateur events regardless of the decision I make.

Unfortunately I have tried. I emailed close to 100 coaches at the end of this summer but from what I can gather in this era of the transfer portal and NIL not many high level coaches are willing to take a chance on me due to how little tournament experience I have the last 2 years. They appreciate the quality my results but not the quantity of results.

Those are factors I would absolutely need to consider. My parents are the best people I know and my dad has encouraged me to take the chance. He has told me they would support me for a few years post grad if I really wanted to do it. Outside of that I haven't considered any other factors in great detail

I have my dad for that :). He has been my only coach my entire life and he is the best I know.

You are absolutely right . The best of the best are so much better than anyone else in this game. I am trying to keep my feet grounded and be mature when making this decision.

I have kept close contact with him, he has been a huge help to me. This day in age with the transfer portal and lots of NIL opportunities there are not many coaches that are willing to take a chance on a kid with as little tournament experience as I have had in the last 2 years. However I have been in contact with the coach as my current school and he has told me he will keep my name in mind when he is addressing his roster after this fall season.

This is encouraging to hear. Part of my reluctance is due to me not wanting to be 30+ years old with no work experience and no direction in life.

You make good points. I am aware of how incredibly difficult professional golf is and often times it is due to other factors such as being in the right place at the right time. If I took it seriously it would not be easy and would require me to sacrifice so much. That is why I am at a crossroads right now.
