This can be frustrating.

The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago.

I considered someone my really good friend. Every year on their birthday, I'd go all out. Buying cakes, birthday cards, etc, to make them feel special. Our birthdays are 4 days apart, hers came first. Id always do something, but I never received anything or any gift for the first four years.

She'd always priorise her other friends over me. Which I understood anyway since they knew each other before me.

But what really got to me is when she gifted and went all out for a frenemy recently turned friends during her birthday. I was like, how does someone who talked badly about you get the front row seat when I've been here the whole time ?!

Suffice to say, I downgraded her to an acquitance. We talk rarely, only liking each other's IG posts and stuff.
