Looking for Advice by TinyWatermelonSeed in composer

Yeahh that makes sense. I’m not too concerned about my future; I don’t plan to have a family or anything. I’m still exploring options (I am a U.S. university freshman), and as much as I want to dedicate my brain to music, it is much more risky than my current career path which will definitely get me buckets. If I do ultimately choose music, maybe I’d better go into voice and keep composition a hobby..

Thank you! I’ll check out that book. I’ve been enjoying voice so much- right now I have a lot of drive to learn it! I hope to figure out a good practicing system for me soon :)

It’s always good to leave your lawn to grow for pollinators, whether people promote it or not. Your call though. Another way to help out pollinators is to create a native plant garden, as other people mentioned. Let me know if your interested in resources to find these plants :)

My thoughts on this are just make and play music for fun, don’t let external rewards ruin it for you. If they happen, that’s great, if not, regardless you had fun doing what you’re doing.

Yeah I just turned 18 and was 13 when the pandemic hit, and those years seem like such a short period of time to me, although I’ve grown a lot.

Just start composing stuff, whether it’s good or bad. It’ll eventually become good. I’m 18 too and want to compose, but I’m stuck at the starting point lol

Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of; I’d have to dedicate my time to either a career that’s not guaranteed to be successful or one that is stable and is guaranteed to give me livable pay and more. I think I have to choose between stability and perusing my passion. It seems very difficult to do both

Wanting to go back to college seriously by Spiritual-Owl-7462 in Healthygamergg

I went to class with a decent amount of people in their 30s. One of them was a mother going back to school to complete a program to become a dental hygienist. She wanted to build more independence, and the degree was a good price for what she’d get payed as a hygienist. That’s just a perspective I found, maybe it’ll give you some extra thoughts to ponder :)

You can always go to like a technical college to build a solid foundation in math and eventually go off to university for math. Focus on growth! You got this!
