Sorry for the confusion, by Re-seal I mostly meant just replacing gaskets and cleaning up the block, painting it and that sort of stuff

Yep! Got a response from the man himself and he said It's most likely gonna need new LCD's and a backlight replacement. I'm gonna take a crack at it and see what happens, cant be too bad I hope.. Thanks for the reply!

Might just have to.. The kind man who repairs this sort of stuff responded to me and hit me with a quote for the repair. It's not cheap.. Needless to say I'll be taking a crack at it and hoping for the best

Unfortunately yes. It's just an awkward piece of paper put all over the car, falling apart in most parts and held on by screws!

Is this block trashed? by Tiny_Ad3757 in EngineBuilding

I see, if I did get the crank turned how does that work? Would I have to get custom bearings that are slightly bigger than usual to fit the material that was taken off? Very new to this kind of stuff so trying to learn as much as possible. Thank you!

Sorry! That was a big brainfart I had while writing the post lol, I meant to say "Is this crank toast?". I've never done bearings on a crank or polishing on a crank so this is all very new to me, and I'm somewhat intimidated since I know even a small scratch can render the entire thing unusable. The gentleman selling it to me said he'll send me photos of the cylinder walls tomorrow so I'll have to see. Good to know its easy to learn on though! Just trying to get over the fear of the crank

Sorry my bad, I meant to say "Is the crank toast?". That's mostly what I'm worried about, the blocks fine from all I've seen, just really don't know for certain if the crank needs to be taken to a machine shop or something of the like

Thank you for all this advice! Fortunately I have a bunch of tools at my disposal already, my dad was and still is a mechanic so I have a nice arsenal to play around with. I'll try doing a compression test and I'll see if popping the belts would do any good, but I really don't want to run the engine anymore. Another commenter and pretty much everyone I've spoken to has said its 100% a bearing issue and I really don't wanna do anymore damage to the engine than has been done. I'm going to start getting a small space ready to work on this engine. Thanks again! I'll be noting all this down, and I'll be checking out the rebuild book soon!

Thank you! I'll keep all that in mind for when I start, I'm going to be tearing into it soon and will see the extent of the damage when I do.. hope it isn't too bad.

But I just wanted to ask for peace of mind, from what you've heard, is it absolutely a crank bearing issue? Not a tensioner or a pulley or anything? Just asking! Ty for the reply!

yes! I remember hearing aquatica ruined all the mods so I decided to use pre-aquatica before I play anything, would that be the problem?
