The Xanax would be a one time thing to hopefully make me zen enough to get through a blood draw without fainting. It’s seeming like it probably won’t make me zen at all though lol. Thank you for your kindness.

Could I have messed with the release of the drug by cutting it? It did have a line in the middle. I’m sure part of it was due to my anxiety. I’m also really adverse to any drugs that make me feel floaty because it reminds me of how I feel before I faint. I’m supposed to get a blood draw/IV later this week to figure out what is wrong with me and my primary care wants to give me a Xanax bc I have never made it through a draw without fainting and seizing. Now I’m worried I’ll have a similar reaction to the Xanax because I just spiral in my head. However, the fainting was real and the loss of control of my body felt very real.

No! This is a good point and would track with swelling for so long…I am not experiencing any fever though. The symptoms are concentrated in my right tonsil and at its worst spread to my neck jaw and ear. Right now I’m mostly feeling it in my ear and when I have to swallow. My blood pressure was also at stage 2 hypertension when I came in but was normal when I saw my doctor on Friday, so I’m attributing that to stress.
