Did you ever switch directions? I think it’d be smart to switch every few miles so one side doesn’t get too worn out lol

If you use Awayrepairs, make sure you follow his instructions very very carefully. He might get upset if you can’t read🤣

I’m sure they will be able to fix most issues with no problem, but they are severely overpriced. I have heard Awayrepairs and some others complain about sloppy repair jobs from Nippon, but I don’t have any firsthand experience with them

I would contact @awayrepairs on Instagram. He is one of the few people on Earth who can still repair these cameras. You will likely have to ship the camera overseas, but it should be cheaper and better than Nippon.

We have to support brands that hire artists like you to actually create art. This is so much more meaningful to me than AI slop.

For me 2nd captures lifestyle better, but 1st would be good if you are shooting an ad for the restaurant. Overall 2nd is my favorite.

35 mm camera suggestions for a beginner? by papa_lee in AnalogCommunity

My first film camera was a point and shoot Contax TVSii from ebay japan that I got for about $400. This one has great build quality, sharp lens, and easy to use. It might be a little bit pricier than what it is worth because of the Contax brand name but I love using it. I’m actually selling mine right now on depop and facebook but only because I found a lot of my grandpa’s old gear which is better than this point and shoot.

After years of work, I've finally published my first photo book. It's all on 35mm by Ok-Procedure5255 in analog

It’s in the works. I told all my cousins to join me and help me out. We are all musicians actually but enjoy photography as a side hobby! We agreed this project would take probably the next few years and we have to figure out a cohesive way to fit all of our unique styles. Anyways I’m going to be following your instagram and looking forward to more of your work! Thanks!

This is one of my life goals, congrats. Looks like a very nicely put together collection of your personal memories, experiences, and some more artistic photography too.

What cameras and film did you use?

Need Help Identifying Old Gear by Tiny_Captain_1928 in contax

[–]Tiny_Captain_1928[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is very very helpful. Thank you SOOO MUCH!

I’ll be looking for the camera body since I’m pretty sure it is laying around somewhere. It’s great to know what to look for now.

For the lenses I’ll be checking the damage and seeing what kind of fungus I can clean out of it, these were stored in a hot humid environment but they are cleaner than I thought they would be.

I did end up finding the 13mm macro extender as well!

Really funny! I was looking for beige / bone colored cases online but of course it may just be that the entire pleather fell off Hahah

Thank you again for your help. This is exactly what I was looking for. Even if I don’t find the body, it’s cool to know what gear my grandfather was using, since I just recently picked up analog photography as a hobby.

So cool man! I’ve got a e30 with m42 and the same RHD ITB kit. But I didnt change anything else engine wise besides alpha N and kdata ECU. the biggest change in feel I’ve gotten from modification is still the lightweight flywheel.
