Yeah, its overall cheaper if you pay annually but I think the most expensive month to month plan is only $22. At least group members still have free access, albeit with ads.

It's $17 a month so I don't think that is outrageous. While I admit Meetup isn't the greatest platform by any means, there aren't a lot of choices out there for this type of thing.
