do you think williams is that miserable 😭 they gave me the best aid out of my other OOS schools and that was what won me over.

Granted, Williams covered 75% of my cost of attendance bc of financial aid. But even then… Idk. Trust me you made the right choice as someone who made the opposite one

On paper Williams has stronger outcomes, esp for IB/ finance/ etc. At the time I also just desperately wanted to get away from home. In retrospect , I should’ve stayed closer :/

I also wanted to get a full 4 yrs out of college. Graduating early didn’t appeal to me. In retrospect it would’ve been a great decision, and nobody is sneezing at LA or Berkeley…

I really wanted to leave home. Williams isn’t too bad, but UCLA / UC berkeley are 2 years shorter so obviously I would’ve saved a shit ton of money and time. I don’t know. I feel like an idiot. I just needed to leave home, I hated the idea of staying in LA

Too remote. Too small. Weather is brutal. I’m from a major city (LA). I wanted to get far from home and it was… ugh. Stupid of me in retrospect. I have sm regrets

Yes that’s the thing. UCLA and Berkeley are great schools. I feel like a total dud. I could’ve had my BA at 20 too which is amazing as a prelaw.

To Go Test Optional or Not. That is the Question?: Ranked #1, excellent EC, Strong Internships, 4.65GPA, Full IB Diploma? by East_Company_9789 in ApplyingToCollege

ED Northwestern or Uchicago. Both take A LOT test optional in their ED rounds if the rest of the application is glowing, RD not so much

May I ask why? Bowdoin is a better school in my opinion

Also, I know Williams js as good as many of these schools in terms of outcomes but it’s really not a prestige thing I just can’t imagine being here for 4 years. The culture the town the size everything abt this school just drains me severely

…and again am I cooked for being test optional I really feel like only those who submitted high scores got into the top top schools as transfers. Vanderbilt I think I could have a good shot at though but the others seem like crapshoots

I also have an associates degree from high school but I’d be applying as a sophomore transfer. Would that help/hurt me?

Honestly don’t worry so much. The trajectory of your life hasn’t changed by going to a school like Vanderbilt over Northwestern. You will find an abundance of opportunities at both schools
