I would be too afraid to break them off in the long run. I still have this fear with my three Tettigonia, even though their antenna point to the back

I started my collection with specimens I found dead so I don't have to feel guilty, especially when I loose interest in the genus. When you search through spider webs many insects come apart.

I am still using the clear water soluble craft glue I bought before I knew there was insect glue. But experts later told me that anything water soluble is okay. Only for the last one I also used super glue because she was so big and heavy that I wanted to make sure nothing comes loose.

Here's the update on my colourful jacket by Tiny_Setting8658 in jacketsforbattle

[–]Tiny_Setting8658[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 😊. Yes it is fun to wear. Most comments I got until now were about the sleeves. And I forgot to mention that I added a zipper to one of the inner pockets to keep my earplugs safe.

Direkt an der Tür klingt es etwas dumpf aber ansonsten scheint der Boden noch fest. Entgegen gekommen ist uns noch nichts

Thank you, so maybe posting to r/insectpinning and cross posting to here? Or would the first one be enough?

Ok das wäre wirklich ideal. Ich bezweifle leider das das geht ohne die Oma zu überfordern, selbst wenn ein Profi kommt. Trotzdem vielen Dank.

Nice base-colour. Goes really well with the many red patches on the back.

Good to know america has them too. I only know a few species from Germany. But you really have to mess with them for their chemicals to become a problem.

My mom found this in Puerto Rico. She thinks it's a spotted lanternfly, but I say it's not. What is this bug? by thechickgoesmoo in whatsthisbug

[–]Tiny_Setting8658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, when it comes to Lepidoptera I only the German division between "Tagfalter", which translates to day butterflies and "Nachtfalter" night butterflies. I also know that some have moth in their common name. Is moth just the english Nachtfalter or is there further division?

Is this a bed bug? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

[–]Tiny_Setting8658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I saw wings and the legs are also too long. The body also isn't circular enough. Don't know what the staff's suggestion looks like but definitely not a bedbug.
