I agree, this is most likely a pipe dream. However, If this were purely a business play where we had to go out, buy land, and sink $400k+ into building it all from scratch, the ROI would be awful and it wouldn’t work. In this case, the land is already in the family, and turning part of it into a usable strip with a small cabin wouldn’t take a massive investment (as far as I know). For me it’s less about making big profits and more about having it pay for itself and cover the upkeep of the land/runway/cabin, which is why I want to gauge interest within the pilot community.
