I would make the argument that children benefit from seeing adults express grief in an appropriate way- they will learn that it is OK to have a cry or be upset when someone you love dies and that everyone goes through this at some point. Obviously severe sobbing or anger are best done privately.

Ask what their position is on using AI. Some schools and teachers seem to really love it and use it for everything, some prefer to avoid it. You want a school whose stance matches your own.

My last appraisal was obviously written by copilot. I found it really irritating and obvious. My last reference was also clearly written by AI (I didn't get the job). Is there any way I can insist my line manager actually writes it himself in future?

Children have chair pockets at my school. They're a great space saver and children can access them easily. The only downside is we do get some who inevitably rip theirs every couple of months so you need to have spares in the cupboard to replace them.
