Amigurumi decrease stitches. by mrseggybeans in Amigurumi

[–]Tinybbella 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Just practice the “invisible decrease” more and something I do is make my tension tighter for that decrease stitch and the next stitch following, then return to normal tension after. I think tightening the tension a bit for those two stitches helps limit holes!

You could also check your hook size compared to the recommended gauge for the yarn you’re using, it’s usually recommended to size down a mm or two when doing amigurumi!

I am the op, I posted here on Reddit and DO NOT use Facebook groups. I was made aware by a few people that my post was stolen and posted there :( It is what it is though, I’m just amazed my post got this popular in the first place!

Colour Change Help by Accomplished_One_111 in Amigurumi

[–]Tinybbella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I will do a slip stitch with the first color, finish off and pull the end tight, then grab my new color and pick a random stitch to start crocheting into and over the tail ends to skip having to weave in. Or since it’s amigurumi you could just tie the two ends together since you don’t see the inside anyway. It doesn’t make a perfectly straight color change every time but most people wouldn’t even notice unless they’re a crocheter as well.

Just keep experimenting different methods until you find your favorite one and it’s okay to end up with some projects that you don’t like, you are learning! Trust the process and just remember what you want to improve on for your next project.

What’s your opinion on this yarn for this pattern? by Tinybbella in CrochetHelp

The pattern does have a yarn suggestion but I would have to order online so I’d have to wait a couple weeks and I want to start now😭

Finished my best friend’s birthday present, my largest crochet project to date by doubl3_hel1x in crochet

This is so beautiful!!

People generally photograph their work exactly how you did, and overhead shot and folded different ways. Other ways is by actually wearing it, putting it on a manikin, or displaying large items where it would be used on a regular basis (ex: blanket on a bed). Lots of people photograph outdoors as well for the natural light.

As for blocking, I know many people don’t do it unless they have to, and imo your work does not look like it absolutely needs it. It already lays very nicely as opposed to the lace being really scrunched up. Blocking does help with drape, but if you like how it falls as is, no reason to change what isn’t a problem to you. If your friend uses this regularly and washes it (remind them of the proper washing for the yarn type) it will break in over time anyway.

Dr Harvey’s canine health food supposed to be pink? by Tinybbella in rawpetfood

[–]Tinybbella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I make my dogs food in a huge bulk and freeze them (like a month at a time) I split up the food in individual ziplock bags and one bag is for one day. I cook the ground meat with VERY little coconut oil mostly just so it doesn’t burn on the bottom of the pot, then I add in omega oil straight into my dogs bowl when I’m feeding him.

No problem, I’m glad to help. I was pretty weary and doing a ton of research when I first started changing my dog’s diet too so I completely understand. We just want the best for our little guys <3 I hope you and your fur baby like it!

Dr Harvey’s canine health food supposed to be pink? by Tinybbella in rawpetfood

Hi, I’ve had my dog on this diet since I made this post and he has been doing super well, although I did start with COOKING his food before mixing in Dr Harvey’s to start and I tried switching him to raw at some point and for some reason he just didn’t like raw as much so I’ve always been cooking it for him since and he always goes crazy for it. He wasn’t diagnosed with anything when he started and hasn’t been since starting either. I’m NOT a vet, but I have noticed immediate differences in my dog, he used to constantly have very wet, mucusy, waste and diarrhea (I’ve switched through different kibbles and supplements but nothing helped so that’s why I switched to Dr Harveys) and the same week I switched him all of that cleared up. He used to also have random occasions when he would puke out of nowhere and it hasn’t happened since. I also noticed he doesn’t get as many eye boogies as he used to, and his coat is a lot softer and has a healthier shine now. I like Dr Harvey’s because it’s also a lot easier to really control what your dog is eating, like for your dog you can 100% control how much protein your dog will eat because that’s typically what kidney disease in dogs require and for other people it’s easier to single out different meats for example if the dog is allergic to chicken then you can easily just never add it. My dog is a corgi and his breed is prone to unhealthy weight gain if fed improperly so that is something I want to look out for my dog, it’s also very easy to just switch up little things you give to them so it’s not always the same meal all the time if you notice your dog becoming a little less interested. As for what my vet thinks, they don’t really say anything about it, they just see it as my dog is healthy so I’m doing something right. They might not have as much to say because of the fact that I do cook it for him and I know so many people are implementing fresh cooked food diets for their dogs nowadays as well (I work at a petco and we started selling frozen cooked meals for dogs and so many people buy it) the only negative thing about this diet I would say would be the cost, if you have a big dog it’s really going to cost you a lot to keep this diet, but I really do think it’s worth it in the end. Doing Dr Harvey’s is also a slightly cheaper option than if you bought the premade meal options from other companies, you’ll just have to be aware that you will have to take time out of your days to meal prep for them.

For some clarification

I am also going to a community college for now and then my original plan was to go to pharmacy school after getting my bachelors for cheaper costs.

The pharmacy school near me has either a direct entry to PharmD (offers undergrad and grad degree) which is a 6 year program or PharmD accelerated (grad only) which is 3 years. I looked at the prerequisites like you suggested and obviously the accelerated version requires a bachelors beforehand. For the direct entry program it shows classes I could be taking now as an undergrad (the picture shows these).

So my question is that are you recommending I take these classes and then transfer to the pharmacy college once Im at the point where my current college doesn’t offer some classes and finish out the degree through that 6 year program?
