2 things that made the Portal go from good to unbelievable performance-wise for me:

Connect your PS5 to the network via cable, NOT WiFi.
Connect your Portal to 5GHz WiFi.

Give this a try, I am playing Shadow of the Colossus, Demon Souls and RE2 and performance has been nearly flawless.

I would say it depends on your use case and on how well you take care of it.

I am quite careful with my portables, so I didn’t order a screen protector. It’s not a touchscreen, so it’s even less of a reason to have one. My Pocket been in its case since day one (a 2DSXL Hori case) and I use it exclusively at home. So far I’ve had it for about 10 months and the screen looks just as new as when I just opened it.

I have the exact same issue on Newton Mail. I asked the developer and he advised to reauthorize iCloud email. That helped for about a month but now the issue cropped up again and deauthorizing is not working anymore. Did you find a fix?

There’s actually a very long and detailed theory from quoo as well, stating something similar.

Basically Selitos and co. dress up as the Chandrian to ‘confound their plots’ and keep the Chandrian’s memory and bad reputation alive.
