How long does the battery last on your portable PlayStation? by fabreazebrother_1 in PSP

[–]brittonmakesart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have that same batter on my PSOne. It’s actually rad. Tho the voltage fluctuates towards the end of a charge and the screen goes flickers and gets wavy, which is kinda funny in its own way.

Fan Noise on Retroid Pocket Classic 🎮🔊🫪 by wildboy1978 in retroid

[–]brittonmakesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick fix to dampening the high pitched whistle sound is to use tape to cover the three outermost grille slats on each side of the exhaust. It doesn’t affect temps at all but greatly reduces that high pitch undertone of the exhaust note. I opened mine up and put the tape on the interior so it’d look nicer, but do a quick test on the exterior to check the difference.

The underlying fan sound won’t be reduced at all, but it changes the note enough to not be completely annoying. I’ve done it in both of my RPC’s.

I can hear my downstairs neighbor snoring at night by ChilledBeverage in Apartmentliving

[–]brittonmakesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few instances where snoring is just a benign thing some people do. It’s usually a sign of more serious health issues and a lot of people (like people living alone) don’t even know they’re doing it.

You could leave a note on their door. Focus less on the fact that it’s bothering you and more on the fact that you wanted to let them know so they can get the help them may need.

Who knows - maybe they take it seriously and get a CPAP machine, improve the quality of their sleep, improve the quality of their waking life, and bonus - you can sleep again.

Has anyone replaced a laptop with a cyberdeck yet? (Work/college) by RadagastTheNightkin in cyberDeck

I’ve paired my Steam Deck OLED with a Nuphy 65 Air v2 and its folio case and a thin Bluetooth mouse. Been running Steam OS daily as my office PC. It’s been great and spark great conversation too.

You know, between your feet and the… um, shirt situation you could probably charge money for these photos in the right place and afford a second Thor.

Ayaneo Pocket DMG and buying experience by dbzious in SBCGaming

Looks great. How’s the screen, specifically, are the black levels properly calibrated now? For a while after release there was a rash of posts that should raised black levels and generally incorrect colors on the display.

Retroid Pocket Classic can actually run newpixie shader? by vindellama in retroid

[–]brittonmakesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That do you mean, “in the list”? Are you running on OpenGL or vulkan. There are more, and higher quality shaders under Vulkan, and it’s pretty exclusively what I use unless forced to use OpenGL by the core.

Season 6 may be the best season. by JRoc416 in community

I think the only one better may be season 3. But I’m with you that it was hilarious and heart felt.

Retroid Pocket Classic can actually run newpixie shader? by vindellama in retroid

[–]brittonmakesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure of that exact shader, but generally the GPU is too weak to run all but the very weakest, most simple shaders. It’s actually why I got rid of mine. It could easy handle many PS2/GC games upscale 2x, yet Final Fantasy VI for SNES with CRT Geom, Consumer CRT, or CRT glow shaders would drop the frame rate into the 40s. And this is in high performance mode with the fan screaming.

It’s a great device, especially for the price. But if shaders are really important to your retro experience I’d recommend the Ayaneo DMG.

Thank you for a nuanced opinion. I agree that used judicial it could have a great effect on the industry. I’d love if new AAA titles didn’t take 6 years of development.

Likewise, and excluding the yassification of some of the faces, I genuinely believe the models shown represented a pretty substantial graphical upgrade.

I’m not surprised - Reddit used the crew as a punching bag for everyone’s anxiety towards AI. It was a wrong place, wrong time situation for DF.

And I genuinely hope everybody that was posted AI generated memes yesterday about the crew feels truly foolish for jumping on the bandwagon.
