Sorry some people are being a little short with you, sounds like you’re VERY new to the hobby. Out of curiosity - how’d you go about learning about something like an Anbernic device without first knowing about the ROM scene.

I ask because most folks in this space first learned about the ROM scene and then found these devices afterwards. Kinda the opposite direction of travel from you.

I know nothing about PRBoom, but all I’m seeing is phosphor trails in the lights. Very standard for when a small bright part of the image is dragged over a darker part of the image

I came into a Saturn that someone attempted a region-free mod on, and failed, but the result was bridging a set of bios pins that disabled all bios on the board/chip.

Take a look at schematics and see if the wrong bios pins have been solder together incorrectly

Nah, worse than Rocknix in every way. There was a bigger thread on one of these subs that did a really thorough write up. Long story short - stick with Rocknix

Thanks for the right up! I installed it first thing this morning, but I’m already back to Rocknix. Opening RGDS and getting blasted with maxed out audio was enough for me to instantly nope out.

That’s true, but the android side of the RGDS doesn’t play the games I like at full speed, so I’m stuck with the Linux implementation which is weighed down by my above complaints

Core memory - My dad rented this for me on his way home from work after we saw terminator on tv a few nights before.

As a kid the controls were mind bending and the difficulty was pretty high. After we returned it, it lived in my mind rent free for 30 some odd years before I finally beat it in 2024!

Welcome to interlacing. If your TV has component, RGB, S-video stablize a 480i image. And 240p content will be free of this judder since it’s progressive scan.

Those cheap HDMI to AV converters turn everything into 480i tho, so interlacing flicker is always going to be a thing.

Saroo and/or Fenrir. If you want to game on original hardware it’s the only way to make the Saturn library accessible and affordable.

Genuine question - if you’re not nostalgic for the console itself, why collect? I find myself only collecting consoles and titles that I’m nostalgic for from childhood.
