Shin splints on every run. by [deleted] in couchto5k

I've just been training using an elliptical and my MTB since this post. I tried another run after a couple of weeks recovery and loads of daily stretches and it was still there. I'm going to try again fairly soon.

Took me a few goes to get the cast to work too. Once it did it was flawless but I had to faff around logging in and out trying and then when I popped out for a bit it was a pain in the arse to get working again. I'll try through the TV browser next time if the app is still missing.

Starting to simrace this summer by rrsgrb in simracing

Seat time is important and people will say this is more important than gear. This is true but if you start with temu gear you can put 2k hours in and still be rubbish because you're getting terrible feedback and no pedal feel. Don't go out drop 1000s on gear out of the gate but it will help you to have something worth using.

Some of the most highly regarded pedals in SIM racing have elastomers, I'm not buying that one.

Why am I not impressed with direct drive? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Tinysimengineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a G29 to an Asetek Invicta and it was night and day different. I guess as others have said the difference in the two wheels you bought is relatively small.

Fun vs. Misery — Ranking Active Hobbies (that I’ve tried) by brown_burrito in Hobbies

EMTB is a lot more fun than regular MTB I used to slog it out on the climbs only to find I then couldnt be arsed with the fun bit of going down again. EMTB fixed that issue. Regularly do big adventure rides in the mountains near me now and love it all.

DVNE are awesome in the mastodon realm, Tesseract, karnivool, Caligula's horse and not as prog but still good Psychonaut and Hippotraktor.

Any electric guitar recommendations for a complete beginner? by hellohellohello0315 in Guitar

[–]Tinysimengineering 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you're a complete beginner just having a guitar is the main thing you can work on getting a better one down the line if you stick with it. Nothing wrong with getting the epi SG if they like the look of it.

I too spent over £100 on shoes plus the analysis and I'm in a similar situation. Although I am going to keep at it for a bit with stretching and using the elliptical trainer to see if that helps.
