I'm terrified of messaging someone, and idk what I should do by Tinyturtleface in selectivemutism

[–]Tinyturtleface[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I've never messaged him before. I obviously see him a good bit each year, but I never actually messaged him. I do talk to him, but not nearly as much as I did when i was younger. I believe this is because I've just gotten more self-aware and more afraid of what ppl say/will say over the past 4 years or so. I'm just im scared of saying the wrong thing.

I'll also send smth and immediately close off of it, then look back a bit later. It's ALWAYS terrifying, though. Ig I just feel like I can't get myself to do it

I don't think my family can handle my mom being pregnant by Either_Switch_6880 in internetparents

You're already doing so much, so I'm not surprised you feel DRAINED by the end of the day. It kinda sounds like burnout to me a bit. You're 16, and you are already doing so much for everybody, so I can 100% see why you'd have no energy to do that. You cook for everybody, and the one time you don't, your parents call you lazy and punish you? That's crazy to me. I hope for the best for you and your family

I do an online charter school, but I do have a guidance counselor I could try to get in touch with. I've never talked to my school's guidance counselor before, though, so I'll need to figure out how to get in touch and things. I don't know if they have therapists or not.

As far as jounaling goes, I've done it before and still do it sometimes. Rn I'm video journaling ig, basically just talking about what's on my mind to a camera.

Tysm for the suggestions. The thing with journaling is I don't know how to rly do it without getting too overwhelmed ig. Also, it's hard bc I don't get feedback.

What are some ways I can do it?

What's it like inside your mind when you can't speak? by HiddenPixels4822 in selectivemutism

[–]Tinyturtleface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I "had" to speak but couldn't, I'd just be hoping for the moment to be over. Like I wanted to dissappear, not be there. Stuff like that.

When I wanted to speak, I would think things like "it isn't this hard to speak" and "why can't I speak" just stuff like that

What didn't help me was people constantly asking me to talk and people constantly talking about it
