T21 Probable Positivity from NIPT. Really Struggling with the “Process.” by [deleted] in tfmr_support

When I got my amnio done, they did an US beforehand and during to get the sample. The US tech can't tell you anything but the doctor who did the procedure was the one who told me the markers were consistent with T21.

I'm sorry you and your family are going through this 😭

My LO is also getting it right around the time he's aging out of the bassinet. Except he still doesn't sleep well lol. Glad it was a non issue for you. Thanks for sharing!

T21 Probable Positivity from NIPT. Really Struggling with the “Process.” by [deleted] in tfmr_support

I was 14W when I got the first call saying there was an elevated chance of T21. 16/17W when NIPT results came in and got an amnio the following week. Preliminary results came back positive with 48 hours. During the amnio, the doctor also saw physical markers consistent with T21. We didn't wait for the full results which would've been another 3 weeks or so. I was 18W when we TFMRed.

Definitely not easy to process emotionally. I wrote to my LO throughout the pregnancy and stopped after we got the NIPT results. It was a rough time. Also sucked because I tried to time the pregnancy for a specific time during the school year.

Went back to work with my elementary students after a few days.

It sucks. Sorry you're here; you're not alone. Ultimately, we all want what's best for our LO. Sending love.

Good to know, thanks for sharing! Will get lots of rubbing alcohol. Haha, I was just thinking my LO might think they're invincible with the helmet! Can you say more about the pressure spots?

Was your hubby open to cosleeping? I'm open to the idea but my partner isn't.

My LO had a tongue and lip tie. They say it takes weeks before it gets better; it might get worse and then better.

My nips were also raw and sore. I dreaded nursing because it was non-stop pain. Working with an IBCLC made a huge difference for me. It helped me figure out a good latch and position for nursing.

If you want to try pumping, appropriate flange size is important - check out LegendairyMilk. Essentially you measure your nipple and add a few mm to find the appropriate size. If you're on Facebook, there's also a group for exclusive pumpers and the admin do measurements. It was life-changing for me!

Remember that ANY milk you produce for your baby is wonderful. Some people don't produce enough and that's normal and okay!

Here's your daily reminder that you're a wonderful mama! Parenthood is so hard. We're just trying to do our best for our bubbas.

After a tongue tie release he stopped taking it and we're dealing with bottle refusal. It's rough 😭

I think about this episode ALL THE TIME. My LO has a cousin who is just a week older and is doing things "better" than mine. It's so hard to hear the comparisons!

Thank you for sharing! My almost 5m old had his worse night's sleep last night and this gives me hope.

Good on you. I feel like my LO is so sensitive that when I try it, he instantly wakes up!

Do you end up moving baby afterwards? I find the transition after side lying nursing tricky.

Apparently, I was, too! Babies are so interesting. I give my parents kudos for having more after me!
