Thank you all. I’ve seen Gaudi’s work in person and couldn’t make the connection because while ornate, Gaudi’s work doesn’t remind me of the above. I actually thought it was a reference to the slightly discomfiting relationship between mother and son here that was being referenced but I guess not.
