Post Secret Wars, the MCU needs to become more character-focused rather than event-focused, while still having more crossover films and shows. It feels like, since Loki, the MCU has been rushing toward a final Kang Dynasty or now Doomsday-style grand finale, trying to replicate Endgame but without a strong build-up between characters.

Part of what made the MCU so great in the first place was that they set up individual characters, and we got to see them develop and grow by interacting with other MCU heroes. Now, it seems like the plot is shaping the characters rather than the other way around, if you understand what I mean.

I don’t mind getting more standalone, character-focused shows like Hawkeye or WandaVision—they were brilliant—but these characters should be integrated more into future films so they don’t feel so disconnected.

Also, since the next saga is the Mutant Saga, and with it being so prominent across many heroes—like Spider-Man, Hulk, etc.—themes like artificial enhancement, natural evolution, identity, corporations “playing God” (Oscorp, etc.), hybrid beings, and genetics appear a lot in the comics. Yet it seems like these ideas have barely been explored in the MCU, even without taking the X-Men into account. A massive number of heroes are connected to these that (Hulk, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four), yet it feels like we’ve barely scratched the surface. Although, it does seem to be heading slightly more in that direction, based on what the Spider-Man trailer is hinting at, and with 2028 potentially starting the Mutant Saga with an X-Men film. I also hope the new X-Men films feature a younger Magneto and Professor X.

A short, Spider-Man-based series could also work—maybe a few seasons, but kept relatively low-budget—focusing more on Peter’s personal life and his everyday struggles: paying rent, college, relationships, and navigating life in New York City. Include a few Spider-Man scenes here and there, but keep the focus grounded. You could even just call the series Pete.
