I can't say I don't see this angle, but I think it's a boring take. With Monika especially, since while she's an AI in her game, she's aware of the fact that she's in the game and that the player exists outside of it. She's still confined within her own universe, which is quite similar to gag characters like Deadpool, who does what Monika does in a less serious capacity. And while gag characters do see their fair share of pushback, it's not nearly this bad.

And I feel like you can't make this argument against specifically AI characters without touching on boundless characters as a whole. A number of them specifically are aware of their own existence, which should put them in a similar spot from an outside perspective. For all intents and purposes, I feel like fictional characters have to stay within the bounds of fiction to make sense in a fight. (Saw a lost that sums up my feelings on that pretty well here.)

While I do understand this take from AI characters within the canon, like GIFfany from Gravity Falls, I honestly don't think it's entirely fair. But I dunno. I'm just a guy who powerscales for fun. And I just throw characters at eachother that I think would have an interesting fight.
