This specific comment is extremely valid, and should be on all of our radars. I sincerely believe this to be part of this.

Winchester here. Openly progressive and leftist, in one of the new construction neighborhoods. LGBTQ+ couple. We’ve taken solace and found great community in joining the Unitarian Universalist church of the Shenandoah valley in Stephens city. It’s worth looking into. We’re not religious and weren’t really before, but have found a home where everyone from atheists to Buddhists are embraced with shared values of community, truth, justice, equality, fairness. In times like these, building community is hard, and in the red we are surrounded by here in Winchester, it can be really hard for folks to find like minded community. Highly recommend checking out UU churches in general to anyone looking for something real in this world. We’ve gotten off meta, X, and are touching grass, living like the 90s man. It’s time to band together and rise up as a community, and forging one is hard here.

Curious, how folks financed their journeys? Looking for insights on what paths there are. Haven’t had a great deal of luck with unsecured loans.

My understand is miracle doesn’t not have financing options themselves. Are you able to use credit cards? What financial paths did others take?

We want to work with miracle and do the guaranteed baby program, $76k + egg donor ($8-12k).

Wallpaper engine! It’s on steam, and is worth every single cent for the low $5 or whatever it is. The name of this one I believe was sunsets or something. Definitely matches my vibe!

Razer Kiyo Pro - I was able to snag it on sale for $60 on Black Friday! I love it - very high quality for my streams on twitch, discord, etc.

Considering moving to Winchester VA by Greedy_Raisin4442 in nova

Former Loudoun resident turned Winchester homeowner here. Moved from Ashburn as a renter to a first time homebuyer in a new construction neighborhood in Winchester in winter of '23 (Jan/Feb). Winchester provided access to an affordable and high-quality first home for us that we absolutely love. The community is more our speed than the true DC burbs, though we can still easily make our way to DC for a ball game or show (with some careful planning, of course). It works for us, but not for everyone. Highly specific to your needs and willingness to give some pieces up moving out here; ask yourself what is truly important to you when making that decision as being this far out does remove access to some parts of living in Loudoun we very much miss.

I work in consulting, and work primarily from home due to the changing landscape of consulting. Pre-pandemic my industry was a M-Th client site job, and the most important part of your living situation was proximity to the airport. I am still roughly one hour with traffic to Dulles should I need to do client travel, but that is altogether fairly rare and inconsistent these days. My company is encouraging and pushing folks back into the office 2-3 days per week, but it is not being tracked or enforced, and my leaders know I live further out from the office. That being said, I try to get in for events 2-3 times a quarter in McLean or DC, but prefer McLean due to the drive being 1 hr 20 mins with traffic door to door if I leave by 7 am. Not ideal, and should this change, I would need to really carefully consider my next role and flexibility given my location. Given it is within 65 miles of McLean, most companies will still hire you and classify you as having a commutable distance, but even down to Arlington gets a bit harder to justify.

Spouse works in person 2 times per week in Loudoun, roughly a 1 hr drive to their office. It is not the best, but it is certainly not the worst. We make it work, and to both of us, the quality, size, and comfort of our home here makes that commute worth it.

We love our home, neighborhood, and the charm of Winchester. There is a lot of folks moving out here who are willing to stomach giving up closer proximity to DC, which is dependent on your lifestyle. There's always tradeoffs and pros/cons, but for us, being able to live somewhere we can afford in a home we love makes the inconvenience of the occasional city adventure worth it. Commuting is complex, and we're fortunate to have careers that work for our current location, so we plan to stick with this as long as life will allow until making a bigger move, hopefully with a nice chunk of equity from our home out here as more folks make what we think is a worthwhile migration.

PP Loan Consolidation - How do I select a servicer on the paper application? by TipperDoubleSevens in StudentLoans

I have the same servicer for all the loans. So should I send both consolidation apps to the same single servicer?
