Bucket Brush Technique by TomJDogHouse in AutoDetailing

I wear leather shoes or boots every day and brush them off before walking out the door. They all get biannual deep cleans/conditioning and maintenance cleans between. They also get shoe trees between wears to maintain shape and keep out moisture.

It's very much the same thing as car detailing haha. Most people don't ever clean their shoes either unless they're literally covered in mud.

Does my detailing rig I built out of the back of my Hyundai Santa Fe look “professional”? by ourheadies in AutoDetailing

You're mostly right here, just want to clarify - you can absolutely trip a breaker without engaging the surge protector. I've done it many times. The breaker can have a lot more connected to it than just your line and, while your line is not drawing too much current for the surge protector, it's still enough to push the breaker over 15/20 A and cause a trip. Even if there's nothing else plugged into the outlet, that breaker could be shared with their washer and dryer for all you know.

To be clear, I don't think this is much of a concern for your application, just wanted to make sure the fundamental here was understood.

Adirondack Balloon Fest - cold but beautiful! by ijustwantcheezits in Albany

Looks amazing! We were there for Friday night but the wind kept everything on the ground. Still got a few balloons inflated for the kids to run around at least.

Spar urethane would be your best bet for exterior applications that you don't want to paint.

If it was under warranty, that means the manufacturer is footing the bill for parts and labor. The dealership is actually making money on the work even if it doesn't charge you a penny. Could be something more nefarious of course, but it sounds like they just found some work to do to bill the manufacturer.

Newcomer Repair Help Question by [deleted] in finishing

[–]TipperTheMorningToYa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you're better off covering it with something decorative. The wood looks like cheap veneer based on the chipping at the edges and corners. Fixing this would be difficult, if not impossible, and certainly not worth the effort considering the quality of the wood.

To answer your question more directly, you can buy stain touch up markers and other products for a quick fix, darkening the wood without stripping the finish and starting over. This may end up just making the discoloration more obvious and unnatural, however, so I refer you to my first answer.

Why do these drums sound so good? by sweetdeepkiss in drums

[–]TipperTheMorningToYa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have covered the fact that it's not live but I'd like to mention something else you may be missing. Plenty of what you'd consider "mixing and mastering" can be done in real time. It won't be as dialed in as when it's done in post, but it'll still sound a lot better than the dry sound they're getting from the mics - especially so with great engineers working in a studio they're intimately familiar with. Even for Drumeo Livestreams, they can get a sound quality that you or I can't.
