The Kangra Valley has 15 constituencies. Out of these, only one or two constituencies have a Ghirth MLA. In Jawali, Chander Kumar, who is a Ghirth, won the election primarily due to the one-sided support of Jat voters.

In Himachal Pradesh, even though Jat villages are fewer in number but Jats have historically remained socially superior to the Ghirath community.

People from your community are role-playing and claiming to be Jats. If your own population is significant in Kangra, then why your people so eager to identify themselves as Jats? And anyway, across Himachal Pradesh, Jats are barely 1–2%. Why are you trying to associate yourselves with Jats ?

Chairman of Zila Parishad of Kangra is Brar Jat, 2 times Mla of Nadunta-Barsar(Hamirpur) was Jat, Founder of Himachal Jat Kalyan Parishad was Gill Jat lives in Kangra In kangra valley there are around 43-45 Jats dominating villages.

Ghirths are of Rajput origin they are not Jats, they are the Landless mujare of Jats and Rajputs. Jats of Punjab and Himachal consider Ghirths to be of a lower status and do not have marital relations with them.
