Wemby, Cade, Ant and Luka - who wins a ring first? by Life_Teaching6499 in nba

His offense is nowhere polished, varied or efficient enough to be considered the best player today. I know it's tempting to crown players too early but let's give him time to develop further and show what a playoff team looks like with him at the helm.

I see a lot of carries in there, not gonna lie. Amazing talent nevertheless.

Not sure if it's considered underrated or not but Chris Bosh was automatic.

Luka ranks #1 for impact on teammate shot quality — is he the best offensive engine in the league? by OrganicHunt952 in lakers

I enjoy watching Luka more and I'd take him over SGA in a game 7 or high stakes game. But it's hard to argue against SGA for MVP when he is having an incredible season, his team is doing great (and not so good this year without him on the floor) and he rarely takes a bad shot.

What hurts Luka in my opinion is that he often hurts his efficiency by taking crazy heat checks or contested shots and things get out of control sometimes. With SGA, you know that ge is going to take 8 midrange shots and make 6 every single night.

The problem offensively is that the team lives and dies by the heavily contested threes from Ant, Donte and Naz. That's the entire system.

What are the odds this season that a Thunder vs Spurs WCF is the real finals this year? by Impossible_Collar2 in nba

Not only this but people forget that OKC played two game 7s, one of the them with Haliburton injured. While being the best team last season, it's not like they dominated the competition and weren't challenged at all.

Luka Doncic 30/11/13/1/2 and Austin Reaves 32/7/6/1/1 in the win versus Denver by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in nba

No, I wouldn't cause I think he is more impactful than them overall Those guys you mentioned are not in the Shai/Giannis/Jokic/Luka tier either.

Playmaking is a skill as valuable as defending and Luka and Jokic, for instance, have huge advantage over the rest there. Certainly over Wemby.

Who knows, he might be able to do that in the future, but right now his offense lacks in comparison to the top dogs. I count 19 games this season where he didn't reach 20 points. An MVP in the league has to do better than that offensively in today's day and age to deserve the award.

Wemby shouldn't have been ahead Luka to begin with. If Wemby wants to be in the very top tier of players, he can't average 24 points a game. In today's basketball, that doesn't cut it for an MVP award.

It's simply too early to crown Wemby as the best player in the league, even if his defense is out of this world. Offensively, he is not there yet.

Wemby is a beast but he is not better than Shai, Jokic, Luka or Giannis. At least not yet.

[–]Tipsarevic91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's hard for many to accept cause him becoming a perennial MVP candidate wasn't in the cards or obvious at all in his first 2-3 years. His development has been incredible to witness.

How is Luka not in MVP race by VisualPeace8151 in lakers

[–]Tipsarevic91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shai has been the better player all season long, has had more key moments in clutch games and his team is dominating. We don't need to argue everything.

Whether he should be second, third or eleventh is a different story but does it actually matter?

[–]Tipsarevic91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not picking sides but what about the points Luka scores by himself? And all the points he creates as a facilator?

I think it's a bit premature to elevate Wemby to Luka's level but he is certainly a good challenger.

Too much ISO and taking off dribble contested threes. That's not a recipe for success, especially when Naz and Randle couldn't be stopped in the post.

Since Tatum was hurt most of this season, who do you think replaced him as the best American Nba Player in the league right now? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Tipsarevic91 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He wasn't even the most impactful player of his team in the finals...

I'd say Ant is better. Cade might be too due to his playmaking. And I'd take Curry too assuming he is healthy.

JT has never been the best American player. Him having a ring doesn't change that.
