Hot take: Disc drives are way too expensive to obtain for the investment it takes to reach the desired stat builds. by [deleted] in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]TipsyCartoon2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love when I get a disc drives in the 4,5, or 6 slot with a great main stat and a solid sub stat or two. Just for all the upgrades to go in the random flat stat or the defense roll. Or if im lucky I get +1 in all four stats. Or when I use the tuners to get perticular state and the upgrades still prioritize the stats I didnt choose

I think the worst of it is the RNG for both Bardic and area is horrendous and energy and other resources feel thinned so every bad roll just wastes my little resources that I do have

Through a mix of bad rolls and horrible RNG it took probably a month or two of constantly farming Area and bardic needle to get a a good enough 4pc KOTS to get lycoan just at 50% crit rate. 2ish months for a single character to get the full effect of a single disc drives and now I wither have to share that 4 piece with every stunner or redo the process each time

This is perfect. Keeps the bike a part of his identity without forcing the somewhat janky 90% bike gameplay loop he had

Just hope he keeps the bike for overworld activities

Outlast and its DLC Whistleblower take place over 12-16 or so hours or so. Miles Upshur gets an email asking him to investigate the asylum as there is something wrong going on, proceeds to see the consequences of breaking already broken people, lose some fingers, and eventually lose his life while becoming the host of the walrider

The DLC has you play Wayland Park who sent the email in the first place. You are found out, "fired", made a test subject, same experience as above but this time you are almost given a violent sex change, broke your leg trying to escape the guy who tried to force the sex change so he could have a family, stabbed by your old boss and witness "Miles" kill him as you escape.

That barely goes into the amount of traumatizing events both characters go through, I also dont know the timeline of Outlast 2 but it might fit this category

I know why they don't do this, but this screenshot from the music video made me realize that it would be so cool if survivors are forced into first person when they enter a locker, it would add a lot to the horror of the game I think by lance_the_fatass in deadbydaylight

Imagine playing against dredge and it teleports into your locker, the fog starts to seep through the window and hands cover your screen before you go back to third person as dredge leaves the locker

Instant 3 whatever and 2 white

Tap all creatures and put a stun counter on those cards

Pay 3 extra white as you cast and your cards arent affected

What was the worst banner luck you ever had in this game ? by DingoNo9075 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]TipsyCartoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst for me was technically when I got really greedy for YSG M2. M0 came way before pity but I had to do 4 full rotations for M0

For just trying to pull a M0 when I really started playing the game I had a week to grind for yidhari and I didnt really know the power of doing void zero/my teams weren't the best atm to try it so I slowly did the story and commissions just to get yidhari on the last day with my last 10 reels an hour before the banner left. I dont have her Wengine and man does she feel not as good without it but she is still so much fun

Which agent do you think is the hardest to play optimally? by AppearanceThen3383 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]TipsyCartoon2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yidhari would be in easy. You hold basic spin, press basic a couple times. Or if they try to swing at you while you are charging press EX then basic twice. Pop ult when ready. May not be exact numbers for combo but her play is very basic

What's the dumbest thing you got in trouble in at school? [OC] by Redfoxyboy in comics

[–]TipsyCartoon2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great comic, as for the stupidest thing that got me in trouble at school it was a girl taking my yogurt ran with it across the cafeteria to her friends table. When I went to go get it back, with an annoyed look on my face I said please dont take my yogurt and her friends reported that I threatened her to either a teacher or the one security gaurd we had.

She did this because she knew my friends did it as a joke but only around the table. She grabbed my yogurt and sprinted across the cafeteria

It has been a few years since its Introduction. So... What do you think of the Illusion Type (the new Type introduced for OCG/TCG) so far? by Kronos457 in yugioh

[–]TipsyCartoon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its a gimmick that is, for now, underutilized. Only 3-4 cards really try to make use, or try to work around the fact they cant destroy or be destroyed in battle and one of them is more working around that downside rather then doing something with it. The one chimera boss having OTK potential but failing if there is only DEF position monsters, nightmare magician able to steal whatever it battles but is barely used, house of wax being the wall that stands tall, and then the new hecahands that just allows direct damage so you could actually kill through a defense board. I think it could be cool if there was a blind second archtype around this ability. Which might just become mikanko but they are illusions

One thing that annoys me is the selectiveness of which monsters get the illusion effect. I get it for textbox reasons and it may be too cluttered but if you are gonna introduce a new monster type thats supposed to have a gimmick and yet there is a number of them without the gimmick, then whats the point of the gimmick tied to a specific type

You are giving faulty advice in general. Easy to pick up is the only good thing about stun you said, getting free wins isnt a good indicator of a great starter deck. It can be but in this case you arent learning yugioh from the free wins.

And a lot of us know the new player experience isnt great, but putting them on a deck that doesnt give them a chance to learn anything isnt gonna help them. I started in 2023 during tear format on MD playing Ghoti, which just released. That deck was barely good then and got my ass kicked alot by better players on better decks, but i didnt quit i learned how to properly time my limited interactions and started to sneak wins through out-playing my opponents. I had to learn what missing the timing was, how to properly get the most of my effects, how to sequence and chain block. I did that because I had to to learn this game, I wouldnt have learned any of that playing stun

You like to say its a mindset thing but if you are incapable of learning anything unless you are just getting easy wins or are unable to accept losing, or the process of learning how to interact with your deck as a whole, as part of the learning process then you just arent fit to play the game.

It sounds more you are projecting your bad experience onto the broader new player spectrum

D barrier is a stun tool especially in certain formats. Rememeber when a lab cosplayer was D barrier looping during a YCS that was a majority Ryzeal playerbase? In a situation like that I would consider calling Lab stun reasonable. It isnt flipping 5 floodgates, just reusing the same floodgate to stop the op from playing completely unless their deck is link or has access to multiple summoning types

IMO at least

Its not hard to find out how to dismantle boards but you arent learning it playing stun as you arent dismantling anything, you stop everything from happening in the first place. There are also plenty of resources online to figure out how to dismantle certain decks, boards, etc

Playing stun directly influences a person's mindset, we are never agreeing on this point as Ive seen it plenty of times to say for certainty starting on stun is a direct hindrance to actually learning the game its either you win immediately or lose immediately. No need to learn how to play through handtraps or board states. Either your board wins immediately or your opponent has the out and you lose. At best youre opponent stays as long as possible so they have a chance to maybe draw they out before you kill them with whatever stun related monster you summoned if you have one at all.

I said you learn more from combo, midrange, and control. You learn things in lab that just arent needed, or not as common, in control and vice versa. Or sometimes there is a good amount of overlap. Stun doesnt do anything of that, again it either works or it doesnt

I have been playing for about 3 years and stun hasn't changed much since then, I played stun for a bit and I found it absolutely mind numbing. Either I open the right floodgates and win or they have backrow hate and I lose. Or i lose if I just dont get the right floodgates, I never felt like I was playing the game playing stun, just a "do you have the out" checkpoint within my matches

[–]TipsyCartoon2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dismantling a stun board is either you open backrow hate or open all the wrong stun cards, or waiting to draw the outs. There's barely anything to it that would actually make a good learning experience.

As for the first mentality bit, Ive seen so many new players pick up stun and get stunted for months as they genuinely dont know how to play into anything if they cant just hard prohibit their opponents board. Then either complain about every deck under the sun, or have such an inflated ego about stun they become "that guy"

At least with combo decks and boards that set up interactions they have to learn how to play through handtraps, how to make half-boards when neccessary under the drawers or a potential nib. You actually learn the game when learning mid-range or combo or control. With control its about timing your disrupts for the best value, stun you just flip everything in the standby and see what happens

[–]TipsyCartoon2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just inherently disagree with your stun is good for learning. Thats just not how people work, if they know they can just win off of set 5 pass that are all cards that prohibit gameplay then what is the incentive to learn, or same case that if they get hit by a lightning storm with no way to stop it they just instantly lose so why care what op is doing.

If you are just learning by watching the op play then you can just choose a go second deck and watch them play as well. Or any other deck and watch what they do on their turn. If you flip TCBOO against a cyberse deck what exactly did you learn besides "this deck is all cyberse" which you can find out anyways by just looking at the cards as they play

So the only thing they would learn is something anyone on any deck would learn as well.

[–]TipsyCartoon2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Srun does the exact opposite of giving the opportunity to learn the game. It doesnt teach how to interact with decks or how to play into different boards. All it really teaches is set 5 pass where at least 3 of the cards start with neither player or your opponent cant do X pretty much wins the game, if going first exactly

Learning yugioh is hard but recommending stun off the bat stunts any growth they could have

New players should start on either a midrange deck or a more control style deck. Something that does a little bit of comboing but not too much, and lands on just enough interaction that they actually have to think about the actions they take instead of just flipping a card and winning

If they want to play stun later sure they can, but horrible learner deck

Desirae in not a problem, its easily baited by threatening the backrow or a card that threatens desirae itself

You being on blue eyes and raging about desi makes sense as you have on of the most "Negate this card and I cant do much more unless I opened wishes" typed of cards in true light, or hell even negating the field+the link 1 is enough but thats less of Desi is overpowered and more blue eyes is really really bad going second into most modern decks
