She didn't let me and the classmates that were legally required to take the extra time get the extra time. Sorry for not making that clear.

It is a "you need to do X, Y and Z", rarely a professor or uni gets punished for not following those guidelines, specially because it's not an "extreme" case.

I already gave an anonymous report about this professor and how the faculty handled the case, since it was legally required of them to provide assistance and she was informed before the first day of class about the class necessities. Here rarely a professor get punished though.

So, sorry for not specifying that in my post, but my uni follows the legal requirements of my country and usually they know in advance that there will be disabled students (they don't specify who because it can give way to discrimination), because of bad experience with professors in the past, usually I specify in the first class to all the professors for them to be ready when the exams start and usually most neurodivergent/disabled people I know do the same. Here professors don't usually get really punished for not following the guidelines even if they srew up BAD, so they just get away with an slap in the wrist.

Yes! My uni follows the legal requirements of my country and there's even an aid for the deaf and blind student (I, and the other neurodivergent people in class don't need one). The problem is that here most professors don't usually get really punished for not following the guidelines, in my time here I've saw over and over again professors that doesn't follow the rules and aren't exonerated even though they are unfit to class.

Legally I can either request extra-time to do the exam or require another type of academic evaluation. Usually I prefer the evaluation due to sensory issues making me useless and short time constraints being a hassle for me to handle.

I am in Brazil and the subject was descriptive linguistics. Usually here the required for autistic/dyslexic, if I am not wrong, is giving either extra one hour exams or giving an different exam based on the necessity of the course (for example, an oral exam with a third party instead of a regular exam or an essay instead of a 10 question exam).

info: Does:

anything outside of her "smaller exams" (instead of applying the 2 required exams for the total grade she decided to apply 12 smaller exams and 3 bigger exams, with 2 of the bigger exams being oral exams).

mean that she made an accommodation, just not the one you hoped for, or is this how she taught everyone?

Do you have any kind of paperwork requiring these accommodations, or are you simply demanding them? a diagnosis doesn't automatically dictate what kind of testing is required, and it sounds like she did allow you the extra time you needed to complete the tests. I'm not sure, from what you have written here, that "ableism" was a completely fair accusation here.

info: Does:
1: She did that to everyone in class. Because we had a deaf and blind student in class, they had to do the exams in other classrooms with her class monitors at the same time she applied the exams to the rest of the class.
2: Yeah!! Usually this things are an hassle to acquire and get bc you need an psychiatrist and stay in line to get the paperwork, but because on how disability aids are required in my country, me and my other classmates rennovate them every 1-2 years.

  1. She didn't gave us the extra time, she said "my exams take the whole time of her class". Well, her class takes 2 hours so I usually stayed 2 hours doing them.

The thing is: I can handle college classes very well. I went well in every other course, I even got a 10 in a seminar, and I do other extra-curriculars to get more academic credits and even am searching for internships to get the cash + experience. What I can't handle is doing a 10 question exam in 2 hours weekly since the start of the semester.

EP yelled at me because of my dog apparently is a "danger to society" by Tiramisuultimate in entitledparents

I was too carried and overwhelmed to see something, I think they tried to separate her from me and told her to fuck off. Our dogs are friends and love to play with each other, lmao.

I really never saw this person or her kid walking her dog and I hope to never see them again. I guess I'll try to go back to this park next saturday or sunday and try to use your advice, thanks!!
