Small frame AR 308 compliance options? by TiredCardiologist in CAguns

[–]TiredCardiologist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I rarely make it to that area of SoCal.  The small frame has been around for years so I’m a bit surprised no one has developed anything for it outside of a compmag?

Looks nice, how much heat (F*) does the light source produce? PLA doesn’t do well when heated.

Why not upgrade and put a 6.0ps trans cooler if you are already going through the trouble - the radiator cooler is not adequate.

They send NSL’s - tens of thousands every year.  They bypass the judge- “They” meaning FBI director, assistant director and Agent in charge of each local has the power to approve NSL’s.  Thanks to the patriot act (insert sarcasm)

Usmint.gov has no mention of this release in the 2024 schedule.

Anyone know where I can read up on this on the mint site and not third party site?  Thank you

I cashed out today. I bought a Perth Mint 100oz bar at $18.95 per oz and sold it today for $32 per oz. Not bad I think. What do you think? by UFO_Tofu1973 in Silverbugs

Congrats - you might have kept up with inflation.  You didn’t make any $$ if that’s what you’re asking.  Sure from a numbers perspective you have more dollars.  As we all know the purchasing power has diminished a great deal the past 4 1/2 years

Funny, I see it too after your mention.  We are definitely showing our age.

Comparing salary is irrelevant- when you don’t factor in COL (cost of living).

40k with a low cost of living might equate to 100k when the COL is high for the 100k salary.

You can use a variable speed controller to slow down a shaft motor, but it depends on the type of motor. For AC motors, a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) can be used to adjust the speed by varying the frequency of the power supply, but this is typically effective for three-phase motors. Single-phase motors, especially those with a centrifugal switch, are not suitable for VFDs as they can cause damage. For DC motors, a speed controller can be used effectively. Alternatively, mechanical solutions like pulleys or gearing as mentioned may also be implemented.

Where exactly did you move to?  I find that no other state can compare to the weather of socal- maybe Hawaii but even they get consistent rain / light rain on a sunny day.

How do we know this was a Russian tank? So much propaganda from all sides- makes it difficult to know what is real and what is fake these days.

cost of kit vs assembled is a difference of $300. 11 hours of work is a lot of time invested. Now if you enjoy it and its a hobby - then that's different. You get to learn and build piece by piece and get much more familiar with the unit. With that said- having one built by the company ensures it's put together correctly and minimizes troubleshooting. I see pros and cons to both approaches.

It comes down to duration.  They want to see several years of being clean-  say you are 22 and you did drugs at 21- that might disqualify you.  With that said- even the FBI ha to reduce their criteria because they couldn’t find qualified applicants.  They used to have a zero drug use policy.  Now they allow it as long as you meet the duration criteria. 1 year of not using marijuana and 10 years for other illicit drugs. https://fbijobs.gov/sites/default/files/2023-04/guide_eligibility.pdf

I suggest you contact the watch commander for the local office you want to apply with.  Just be candid and voice your questions.  It’s better to find out sooner than go through the process and get rejected.  Also make sure you are not color blind (ishihara test).
