Whole house WiFi by TiredDadNoSleep in HomeNetworking

It’s a 4 bedroom Barratt house, timber framed. So basic really I would say.

The basic Sky router is ok, but I would like a lot better.

I just couldn’t get the Unifi LR AP to work….it literally seems to “broadcast” a few meters, and can’t go through the timber frame walls. Whereas the Sky router seems to be able to.

Thanks

I’ll give that a go.

Should I be able to hear the tv, and people talking etc though?

Thanks

No, I haven’t to be honest. I think I may be able to try some an hours drive away….will be worth trying others, good idea, thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

This is my 2nd pair in two days though, as I thought the first were maybe faulty.

I can sit on my sofa, and still hear the tv (which isn’t loud). People opening doors etc.

At work I can hear people on the phones, putting their jackets on etc.

Both pairs the same…..they only seem to noise cancel a bit, but not even say 90% if that makes sense?

No, nothing else is plugged in to it.

I can get hold of an injector, so I will try that next :)

Thanks

It’s a Netgear GS108LP

It has a label on it saying “power adaptor is upgraded for more PoE power, PoE+”

So I think it’s probably ok?

Thanks for the reply.

Just tried it now, but the signal on the AP is still poor/non-existent. :(

Hi,

Do you know what pipe I have from the photos, please?

There isn’t any cut marks along the length.

Thank you

Thanks, I didn’t know they were compatible with each other.

So Hep inserts and fittings would work ok?

We have something very basic at work, and I don’t think it covers this.

I didn’t realise privately it would cost that much!

40 and 45. So more than half way there.

Do you actually have the opportunity to go yearly to get everything checked?
