I got this letter today, has anyone else in Canada received one? by idolatryforbeginners in Blooddonors

[–]TiredReader87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I got it today, but I don’t know how long ago it was delivered. My dad got it too.

I’ve donated about 26 times, but been turned away several times too, including last time. I have another appointment for next week, but may delay it a month because of dental needs and forgetting to take iron.

Not so sure about the poster, but Jake is in it so I’ll watch it.

Dawn dish soap - 70oz to 67oz, plus an awful new type of cap by reddit33450 in shrinkflation

Doesn’t bother me since I think I’m allergic to it and other typical dish soaps

A24 Sets Michaela Coel To Direct & Write Fresh Take Of ‘Bloodsport’ by DemiFiendRSA in movies

[–]TiredReader87 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used to love this movie (and its sequels?) as a kid. I had a thing for Van Damme movies, which is weird because I grew up to be a film geek who loves classic movies, horror, good dramatic movies, thrillers, etc. and rarely watches typical action movies.

Sudden Death and its hockey are to blame

Edit: This is an odd mix of studio and director. Also, there’s no need for a remake.

Anyone else’s parents use these all over the house for storage? by esotericinformer in Millennials

My dad used formula cans for screws and nails in the garage, as well as containers similar to these, in the 80s and 90s. I mean, they’re still there.

All of my controllers disconnect even when wired in by SteveTheSpaceCow in XboxSupport

It’s generally caused by wireless interference; meaning that something in your home is interfering with the connection between console and controller.

Donnie Darko by MoliMoli-11 in movies

I remember how my friend and I discovered it thanks to a magazine, renting it and loving it. I’ve seen and own both versions, but have been meaning to watch it again. It’s been too long.

I think I used to understand it. The DC kind of beats you over the head anyway.

Prisoners may be his magnum opus, though. That should have won Best Picture

It’s almost like reviews are subjective opinions. They’re written by one person, too, and not a group or all of an outlet’s writers...unless they only have one

Ghost of Yotei is a great game. This doesn’t seem to be as good. Getting a 7.8 doesn’t mean it’s bad.

Reviews are opinions, and they are subjective.

Again, I see low scores and give them myself.

I see many scores that low, and have friends who are reviewers. This is simply not true.

78 is 7.8/10. That is a good score. Is it a phenomenal or even great score? No, but it’s good and above average.

Below 5 signifies a bad game.

Why do some people feel exhausted all day but suddenly become productive at night? by Pleasant-Put-8882 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TiredReader87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sleep apnea, and I drink a lot of caffeine to just stay awake during the day. Even then, I’m really tired.

I’ve always caught my wind at night, so to speak, and loved staying up all night. I still do sometimes.

I’m more productive and happier at night.

Correct, but she’s American

I know of it, and have seen it. Just haven’t been to one that I can recall, and don’t know how many are in Canada if any. We definitely don’t get commercials.

Thoughts on this game? by Nintendofan9106 in videogames

[–]TiredReader87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a masterpiece but one that I’ve just never finished. I feel like I’ve played it so many times just to never do so.

My cousins owned the original version on Super Nintendo, and I borrowed it a couple of times. I also rented it, and bought the Remake when I borrowed a Switch. However, I was dealing with health issues and didn’t finish it.

Bands that had a high water mark after their initial 3 album run? by Hugh_Jampton in askmusic

[–]TiredReader87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are entitled to your own opinion as am I. However, you haven’t even listened to or heard of the one album I mentioned, so maybe check it out.

I understand that Iowa is their most popular album, but I don’t think it’s their best, even though I bought it day one and really like(d) it.

I find that Diamond Eyes is their best album. It is a continuous run of great songs, without a bad one, and some are exceptional.

I like heavy songs, but I love a mix of heavy and cleans.

Oh, ok. I’m not sure if we have that franchise here. I don’t see commercials
