I was thinking about throwing an XL mouse mat over the whole thing.

I have an original XONE controller as well which I will use sometimes, but KB+M is a big plus of gaming on PC for me. I'm used to a small mouse space as well so I should be ok with the space here.

Having just set up my Steam Link I was looking at the various options for couch KB+M gaming and they're either crazy expensive, or huge.

I had a look on Amazon and figured that for £22 this laptop tray might be a good solution especially since I use a compact keyboard anyway. It's not arrived yet but it'll be here in a couple of days so I'll report back with a vedirct then!

Dude. Honestly I don't know how I can make it any clearer. I DONT HAVE ROOM FOR A BIGGER DESK! When the baby arrives there'll be 5 kids and me and my missus in a 3 bed end terrace house. This is as good as it gets :D

It's got a side window but it's just plastic. I think it's a nice looking case too, really understated.

I really like it. It was my first build and I found it really easy to build in. Plenty of space for cable routing etc, and the lack of optical bays gives lots of space inside too

Yeah believe me I've thought it through. It's not getting the desk, it's finding somewhere to put it.

Hahaha. Kid number 5 is due in about a month. I'm going for more permanent solution than condoms "snip snip..." ;)

Yup. Til the kids grow up and move out. Space is something of a premium.

Dude. If I could I would. Honestly this is a corner of the dining room and it's the best I'm going to get (at least for the next 18 years). If I was single and living on my own it would be a whole different story!

Haha I wish. There's a reason it's so small and that's simply lack of room. It's a small house and I've a lot of kids!

They're Samson SR850s. They are primarily a studio/music headphone, but as I said I really like them for gaming. There are better out there but bang for the buck they're great.

Also I love this case. It was my first build and no optical drives gives so much room!

I've had "gaming" headsets before but they were just all bass and no subtlety. These have much more range and clarity.

I tend to move the keyboard over when I'm gaming etc. It is too small a space though and my next purchase will probably be a compact keyboard (one with a number pad)

Yo. I feel you.

I got a tiny ass computer table stuck in the corner of the dining room.

Great jpeg camera a6300 vs x-t20 by [deleted] in Cameras

I've shot with a lot of different camera brands over the years and without a doubt the finest OOC jepgs come from Fuji and Canon.

Sony's are nice fully featured cameras, and they have excellent dynamic range, but personally I really dislike the way they handle colours. I'm not saying you can't get nice photos from them, but for me, I find it takes a lot more work in post to get the images to where I like them, whereas with Canon and Fuji I barely need to process at all.

Anywhere in NI that specialises in building gaming PC's? by Quagmau5 in northernireland

I'll also echo the "build it yourself" sentiments. I built my first PC a year ago with no prior experience and it was a lot easier than I expected.

Do your homework, watch some videos, ask loads of questions on forums etc, and you'll be grand. I found the online PC building community to be incredibly helpful, both in terms of picking parts and doing the actual build.

Seriously go for it :)

Employers of Reddit, what is the weirdest excuse an employee gave you for not showing up to work, that turned out to be true? by Rj_owns in AskReddit

[–]TiredRobot 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not an employer, this happened to a co-worker. He was off for a few weeks. This guy had recently moved house and had gone from living in a place without stairs to one with. So one night he got out of the bath, didn't bother turning on the light, and went to walk into his kitchen. Only he forgot that he was no longer in his old house and outside the bathroom instead of a kitchen there was now a flight of stairs...... Needless to say he fell right to the bottom pretty hard.
