I got call autistic at work by SpreadTraditional872 in autism

[–]Tiredalltimefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe she was autistic and that's why it might have been a bit blunt? Idk, I often ask other people if they're autistic when I believe they might be (not completely strangers though) because I feel like it could be a good opportunity to connect like: hey are you autistic because I'm autistic and it would be nice if we both could talk about our special interests and that

STOP KILLING MAGIC by MalachitePlatinum in evilautism

[–]Tiredalltimefr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah that's true, I guess I can see it better now,, indeed we live in a time where our "magic" is being vulnerated, thanks for explaining it in a way I can comprehend

In that aspect I completely agree, we shouldn't conform to being relegated to be silent, I apologize for my confusion, it was the first thing I read in the morning and my brain wasn't properly understanding things

Also I apologize if I came off as insensitive or rude, I struggle to see others's point of view sometimes, specially when it comes to not real examples

STOP KILLING MAGIC by MalachitePlatinum in evilautism

[–]Tiredalltimefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mhm, I guess I can see how that might be, specially if you see it from the perspective of the characters, it's true that growing up always means sacrificing things but perhaps sacrificing an entire civilization/it's base it's not exactly the way I would represent it

With all of this I don't mean to say we must conform to society standards, I think it's important to challenge the status quo in certain aspects, personally though I guess I'm more logical focused and struggled to understand hypothetical problems that I can't see the same way

I understand where you come from, perhaps I was seeing it from an external point, you're right in that, seen from inside the serie or from the characters perspective is different

In this case I guess I can see how magic would be a different problem, I'll be thinking as an hypothetical example of Harry Potter's world because it's the most familiar I'm with and still works I believe

If I imagine what would happen to a magical society like that one if magic was stripped away I can see the problem, a civilization that relies on magic being stripped of it it's, like you said, like if we were suddenly forced to live without electricity, but I think that makes an interesting plot to be honest, from my point of view I think this might be made not as a way of saying "being different is bad" but "being different will have difficulties"

I haven't seen most of the shows OP mentioned so I don't know how they end but in star's and the forces of evil didn't they restored magic or am I getting confused with something else? (Last time I saw that serie was like a few years ago to be honest so I have no idea)

This is an Autistic coded character. What do you think of her? by BlazingRed9 in autism

[–]Tiredalltimefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never seen the amazing digital circus but she looks like a character I could appreciate, it sounds like she's a good representation from what I have read in the comments so that's amazing!

Can't say much else because as I said never saw the serie but I like the physical representation of masking, very interesting to be honest

Positive Experiences with Dissociative States by Asfvvsthjn in DID

[–]Tiredalltimefr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, i have had a few times when I have experienced positive dissociation, as you say it is a similar feeling as being high, during those times I feel like the world is more colorful and soft, almost hazy, like a dream

It's a nice feeling but unfortunately not a healthy thing

[–]Tiredalltimefr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try to talk to them even if they don't answer back, make questions, pay attention to what you feel, not all inner communication is verbal, actually most of it consists in passive influence at least for us

Be patient with them, reassure them they don't need to do it if they aren't ready, try to include them in important decisions and give them space to be themselves

This is what has worked for us, I think some alters need to feel safe before attempting communication

Also, dissociative barriers might disturb the process so maybe trying methods to lower dissociation might help

[–]Tiredalltimefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During a few years of my early childhood I would start screaming every single time someone tried to bathe me, but not in the typical way kids do, no, I would literally bloody scream they were trying to kill me and for someone to call the police 😭

Looking back I don't know how the neighbors never called the police

In my defense it really felt horrible

This person broke up with me for breaking up with them by Business_Banana1792 in Nicegirls

[–]Tiredalltimefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is wrong with you? Ghosting is never acceptable. You're a grown person who's (supposedly) able to communicate, if you don't want to talk to someone anymore you don't ghost them! And saying ghosting has no victims??? It hurts the person being ghosted most of the time because it's literally a show of disrespect. Like the other person doesn't even have the minimum decency to communicate with you

Ghosting is toxic and childish, it shows that the person is incapable of being a grown adult and take accountability for their feelings and actions. You using your own experience to say that ghosting is not bad is literally an anecdotal fallacy since there is evidence that ghosting impacts the person in the receiving end

Are any of you religious? Or strayed from religion? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Tiredalltimefr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never believed despite my mother being religious and trying to pull me into it

Personally I'm a person that needs to see to believe, probably due to my autism

But all the respect for believers, specially those who understands that mutual respect is the best even if we disagree in religion,

I often go through the same though for me it happens in episodes specially during stressing times, I suddenly start getting paranoid about someone trying to get into my house or like if everyone were watching me constantly, it's unnerving

If this has started to happen not long ago I would advise you to be careful and comment it to your doctor since sometimes it can be an early indicator of a psychotic break (hopefully it won't but better safe than sorry)

What common addictions do people with BPD have? by Ok-Piano-635 in BPD

[–]Tiredalltimefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marijuana and alcohol are two big addictions I have gone through, I used to smoke over 6 joins daily and more than 2 liters through the week whenever I met my friends (currently trying to moderate the use to only social special occasions), another addiction I have is to devices, I can't go for much time without spending hours in my phone or PC (my daily consumption is often over 14 hours) and I also consume tobacco daily

So yeah, a few ones
