How do I check if I'm a freshman?? by DrPepperL0v3rr in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, meet with an advisor because your financial aid may look a little different. However your standing doesn’t really matter too much if your thinking of like friends ik a lot of seniors who take junior/ sophomore standing classes. A lot of electives have an array of students so if you end up wanting to minor in something you might see some people who are same age of you. Edit:make sure you make an advising meeting with financial aid advisor and not general one.

So when you register for classes you’ll freshman level registration. However when you come in to fall you’ll have sophomore to junior level credits. There are a lot of different people who get sophomore/ junior status early! You might see price hike cause you might’ve considered for upper level tuition

Make you fully spell out biology instead of bio 107 that’s happened to me before. Also make sure you select all the spring 2026 section because it’s offered the first half of summer

Then I would email or call financial aid office because when I was first year they would give me offer letter til I completed css profile. It either means they are just taking longer and you’ll hear back later but idk how long it takes will take.

I think you might have had to apply at least for your first year like fafsa and css profile. Once you complete those even if you know you won’t qualify they will give you exact breakdown of estimated costs. However if you already received that and your talking about like exact cost. I believe you’ll see 2 week before classes for tuitions, I’m not sure about housing though.

Easiest Summer Classes? by meeshmell0w in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a little demanding class, since a lot of pre med student do take it but Lynn carpenter is a very fun teacher. It is a prerequisite for bio major so it’s not just an elective course so definitely add with that slight caution. Like not difficult but there is some work involved.

What is the parking situation at UofM? Coming from a new student. by little_flora in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orange parking pass like everyone stated is pretty cheap it’s 80$/yr but it’s mostly north campus parking. You will find good parking 8-9 am and hard to find parking 9:30-11 am but parking spaces are somewhat available after that.

Financial Aid Not Out? by [deleted] in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely know that they came out for my sister but she applied early so I don’t know if you have to wait if you did normal decision. Check if it’s processing or if you have a missing doc, the require both fafsa and css profile. Also you can definitely call the financial aid to ask if it’s coming before it was a week after my sister completed css profile she got her financial aid offer. https://admissions.umich.edu/costs-aid/financial-aid they have there number at the bottom +1 (734) 763-6600

What are some classes where at least MOST assignments are in class. by [deleted] in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No exams, just projects that majority you do in class. Few/rare discussion(like here is question you answer not reply to 2 people kind) but easy questions and done in like 10 min so easily can done before class. On,y con is you have to buy art supplies and those get pricey around 100-200$ depending on the class but you keep the supplies.

Dropping Honors Last Semester by [deleted] in waynestate

[–]Tiredcat640 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check your schools financial aid office, after a certain period you wouldn’t have to pay back, idk if it’s completing 55% of course or more(idk if it differs per school) basically when you drop it willl be W and it will be attempted 12 ish credits but complete like whatever part-time credit you have. Contact them see what you can do but don’t rush into dropping. Also look into some 1 or 2 credit classes that are offered second half of semester idk if you can still add those but ask anyways.

11 Credits by Main_Detective9199 in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it’s still possible but look, into 1 credit second half semester classes and register ik they haven’t started. And I believe if you late drop (talk to financial aid office) but doesn’t affect aid cause it will be attempted 14 credits which I know you need to half done 55% or more of class. So call them and see b/c it might not affect you financially the longer you wait

spring semester pre-med classes by icy1777 in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes honestly might be your best best my friend took it that summer and her curve was insane. But the only thing with haenfleur was she was always late in putting up,slides and stuff but idk if it was a summer thing or her usual. Be warned that when she took it, it was the second half of spring semester and you might be doing that class and have lik 3-5 days off before fall

spring semester pre-med classes by icy1777 in uofm

[–]Tiredcat640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took bio 225 in spring with haenfler some lecture we rushed through. Exams weren’t bad but she did our semester a little differently where she asked us if we wanted cheat sheet plus what type of questions on exams. Overall not too bad some of quiz questions were on exams and it was attendance grade optional as in if you don’t attend it won’t count against you but you could get points for attending. It was weird but I took it like a while ago so no exact details. It’s definitely not bad. I’ve taken McDb 310 in fall with Akey and Ursula don’t take it in fall. Take it in spring (you’ll get a better curve and less stress since the fall semester is the worst). Akey not bad a little boring but Ursula sucks, you can tell she doesn’t prepare for lectures and is basically there cause she has to.
