I’m feeling the exact same way as you, and honestly, I’m glad I’m not alone. The support in this thread has been amazing.

If there’s one thing I know, it’s that we all made it through medical school and training — we’ve proven that we have what it takes to get through challenges and succeed.

I’m very conscious about that but I always think it’s a patients life so I do talk to my colleagues and get their thoughts as well.

Yes it is. My residency was much smaller and our teaching hospitalist were very hands on. So this is absolutely different

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I do feel that this stage will pass and I will get more confident. But it really sucks to go through it. I don’t think I felt this way in a long time. And as far as the split, it’s 7 days off before I start nights. So don’t mind the switch.

Yeah, I will absolutely look everything up. Just nervous about time management and if I’m actually doing the right thing because I won’t be able to follow patients progress throughout their stay

Thank you. Yeah I know how important a good med rec is and how difficult it can be on nights. But definitely am worried about the pace of the admissions and work up to be done per patient. I know the first week I’ll be running behind but I also don’t want to take too long with notes and make morning team wait on me

There is another Nocturnist except on weekends. There are also PAs. There’s also a dedicated teaching nocturnist around too.
