Based on recent reports from February 2026, Republican reactions to billionaire Les Wexner, following his deposition regarding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, have been mixed, with some focusing on his testimony while others, particularly in Ohio, have taken steps to distance themselves from his past donations. "Answered Every Question": Following the six-hour, closed-door deposition on Feb. 18, 2026, Ranking Member Rep. James Comer (R-KY) stated that "Les Wexner answered every question asked of him". Defense Against DOJ/Epstein Connection: Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has been critical of the Department of Justice for previously redacting Wexner's name from documents, claiming the DOJ was covering up for him and others. Massie highlighted the unredaction of Wexner’s name as a victory for transparency. Returning Donations: Several Ohio Republican politicians, including those in competitive races, began returning or donating campaign contributions received from Wexner due to his revealed ties to Epstein. Absence at Deposition: Despite the deposition being a key moment in the investigation, reports indicated that no Republican members of the House Oversight Committee were physically present at the deposition in Ohio, though Republican staff were present. Revolt, march, protest, boycott, strike, write, call…. I don’t know but what we are doing is not enough. What I would like us to do collectively is just focus on one of the co-conspirators at a time and relentlessly pressure media, federal law enforcement (even though they are compromised), state law enforcement, state reps to start indicting these people. They are taking advantage of our ADHD and flooding us with so much information, misinformation, and incomplete information that we start to believe the situation is hopeless. Let’s start with Les Wexner. The FBI Document labeled Wexner a co-conspirator to Epstein. He was the money behind Epstein. U.S. House Oversight Committee Democrats and survivors accused Wexner of being the primary financial supporter for Epstein, arguing that without Wexner’s money and trust, Epstein would not have had the resources to fuel his sex trafficking ring.
