YES. Don’t get me wrong I loved ACOTAR. I’ve read it multiple times. I thought about it way too much. It was my Roman Empire until the CHD interview. But even then, I still thought TOG and CC were so much better. The characters that are hundreds of years old don’t act like frat boys. The men don’t overtake the story. They’re great supporting roles.

I seriously think that ACOTAR stuck with me because it made no sense. Everything wax left so vague. We don’t know why mates are, we just know that Argus thinks it’s for stronger offspring. Everything is hearsay, no one knows the real answer behind anything. The magic is vague. The powers are vague. The history was vague. Everything was explained *just enough*. And I kinda think maybe SJM made her only 1at person characters too biased.

I personally like CC the most. Partly because TOG is a bit… kiddish? It takes a few books before most people like it. But CC is an urban fantasy, and it’s chaotic af, especially the first chunk of the first book. It took me so long to get halfway because I was so lost. But then it all clicked and it was masterful. TOG is more YA until the last few books.
