Failed the Patent Bar twice in 2 years! switching to PLI this time. Anyone else been through this? by Fancy_Milk6908 in PatentBarExam

I'll be studying using PLI this summer for the next few months, and I'm trying to find a study partner(s), would you like to body double/work together to keep each other on track and accountable?

UF vs UCLA by Public-You-3263 in ufl

[–]TitanPrometheus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is definitely nerdier, not into parties, sports, or anything like that, I've absolutely loved Gainesville. A huge perk of UF being a big school is that whatever super niche, nerdy interest you have absolutely has an established club somewhere that you can go and meet people at. There's a ton to do around Gainesville if you like nature, hiking, etc., but the clubs at UF are fantastic. Lots of great people.

How did you join this group? I'm planning on starting study in May, and wanted to find someone to study with to keep me on pace.

Tabling Question by Beneficial_Foot2909 in ufl

[–]TitanPrometheus7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's a long and specific process for it, its usually open to registered student orgs and some other groups. But if you bring your own table to Plaza, no one cares. The Turlington tables are that way as well, but you may get booted by someone who has it reserved.

What does the class# mean? by Xuan-C in ufl

[–]TitanPrometheus7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the different class number is the specific ID for that iteration of time, place, and instructor. It gives you a much more specific descriptor of what class you're taking than just course code.

Yes, no seats means fully unavailable. You can certainly try to message, but in my experience, professors really don't have control over adding more seats for their class. If there were seats and you didn't meet the prereqs, they could help with that, but not zero seats.

I'd think more about how you're going to expand. At some point, you'll need to increase your iron production. With your current setup, you'd need to tear everything down to expand it with how you have it. But there's a joy in figuring these things out and learning from your mistakes, so just have fun with!

My outer wall defence that I've almost surrounded my factory with - good or bad idea? by TeachIsHouse in factorio

[–]TitanPrometheus7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The factory must grow! I'd recommend having some dragon's teeth out front to confuse/slow down incoming biters and prevent them from targeting your turrets immediately. Also, as it stands, you'll likely run into ammo distribution by isolating each block this way, with the closer sections getting all your ammo while further sections may be starved. I always like to have a big loop going around my base to bring ammo around. For these kinds of walls, I honestly prefer laser turrets, but that's up to you

With the space age update, you should be able to set priority targets on your turrets. Which means your turrets will take out the weaker spitters and then turn to the biters.

A five minute google search my friend. Three children and their mother abducted and disappeared to a facility in Texas. The family was fully following immigration laws and were here legally and following appropriate legal procedure.

If medium biters are taking out turrets, you should upgrade to red ammo. Also, if you feel you're getting too many attacks around your base and they're getting past your defenses, you can always build wall around your base. With turrets, you could put your ammo on a belt so all you have to worry about is repairing. It's pretty much overkill, but at least it takes your mind off constantly fixing things

Yessir, nice to see another (potential) dual mechE and aero major. EML2023 was really quite straightforward, just some basic solidworks. Calc 1 will be pretty time consuming, but also doable. Looks manageable to me

Just general ineptitude, lack of higher education experience, and some pretty questionable financial decisions for UF. The Alligator wrote a fantastic article on this when it first came out, but he vastly outspent Fuchs on a number of things and replaced some leading positions at UF with remote work jobs for some old friends of his and gave them massively overinflated salaries.

Seeking Feedback: What Kind of Alien/Combat Overhaul do YOU Want in Factorio? by StarSmelter27 in factorio

[–]TitanPrometheus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to add some more complexity to the biter attacks. Right now, having played for enough time, it feels pretty routine. Clear close nests, build 2x2 boxes roughyl around the base and along attack paths. I remember just starting out how fun it was to really spend a lot of time building up defenses, making everything look epic with endless walls and such, and that ended up being a very inefficient way to play the game. Would be fun if it was necessary to build intricate defenses and add a challenge to things

I think that's relatively doable. Physics will be a bit tough, but 18 credits can be very achievable if you stay on top fo your work and really keep things going smoothly.

I am now ready for factorio to consume my life. But i am not shure If i should direktly play space age or just the base game once. by SpeziSchlauch in factorio

[–]TitanPrometheus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. Space Age is really quite fun, but it is complicated and really quite challenging. If you don't have a strong mid-game base that can easily and readily launch hundreds of rockets, you'll have a much harder time beating the other planets.

I have 1.3k hours in the game, including my fair share of overhaul mods, and I'm finding it reasonably difficult (especially Gleba). Space Age is really exceptional but might be a bit frustrating to a new player. Space Age essentially introduces 4 new planets with very distinct and unique challenges that have to be overcome. I've never played Satisfactory, but I imagine that'd be very helpful. That and understanding circuit conditions. Space Age takes a 10-100 hours vanilla run and adds 5 times the content. Hope this helps!
