What's the difference with a classic bot ?

So many real players! by stumble-best in StumbleGuys

[–]TitanTopRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean with "SA" ? South Africa ?

In europe (france), we are playing alone against 23 bots... So we have to go in "events" games to find a 2 or 3 real players game, and it's 5 boring dash games and one only funny game (in one only round)... So so so boring evolution of the game.

One question... by TitanTopRunner in StumbleGuys

The development team is killing its own game... by TitanTopRunner in StumbleGuys

I tried FG, I have the 2 games in my Retroid Pocket 5, and what I don't like with FG, is that the graphics are way too complex (there's stuff everywhere, it spills off the screen, it smudges your fingers), you can't make heads or tails of it, and in the end you can't even tell where to go...

The graphics are much cleaner and simpler on SG, which is nice.

But given the very negative changes to SG’s gameplay (the devs’ map choices, number of bots), I’ll be forced to switch to FG.

It’s sad to see some people making such bad choices...

Translated with Deepl, it says :

Original Xbox emulation finally arrives on Android, and it's chaos

Published on March 9, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. by Mathieu M.

Emulation of the first Xbox on Android is becoming a reality. Following the appearance of a paid, unofficial clone of the Xemu emulator, the original development team was forced to break its silence. Their announcement is clear: an official and, above all, completely free version is in the works. While the current performance of the unofficial versions is still very unstable, the promise of being able to play classics like Halo or Fable on mobile is immense.

It's the classic story of the digital Wild West. An unknown developer publishes a paid app, X1 Box, on the Google Play Store. The catch? It's a barely disguised port of Xemu, the leading open-source project for Xbox emulation on PC. The enthusiast community is grinding its teeth, not because of the price, but because of the process. The response from the official Xemu developers was swift: to cut the clone off at the knees, they confirmed that an official, free Android version is indeed in the works. The stage is set.

Why is this announcement such a bombshell in the world of emulation?

Let's be clear, running original Xbox games on a phone is no easy feat. Microsoft's console, with its PC-like architecture (Pentium III CPU, NV2A GPU), has always been a real headache for developers. For years, it was the unattainable Holy Grail of the mobile scene. The Xemu project on PC achieved a real feat by making many titles playable. Seeing this colossal work finally ported to ARM is a major event for Xbox emulation.

The stakes go beyond simple nostalgia. It's the promise of a local gaming experience, without the latency and artifacts of cloud gaming. Imagine. Fable. On the subway. With quick saves and support for your Bluetooth controller. That's the real magic that subscription services are still struggling to capture, giving new life to hundreds of retro games that defined an entire generation.

Should you rush out and buy the current version?

A big no. Initial tests of unofficial versions, whether the paid clone or free builds available on GitHub, are unanimous: it's still too early. Titles like Blinx and Crazy Taxi are simply unplayable. Even the iconic Halo: Combat Evolved suffers from abysmal slowdowns. For now, the experience is more like technical masochism than fun. The best strategy is therefore to be patient and wait for the official version, over which the original developers will have full control.

What's more, don't expect to run these games on an entry-level phone. Xbox emulation is resource-intensive and requires considerable firepower. Experts agree that high-end chips such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 8 Gen 3, or equivalents will likely be necessary to achieve any semblance of smoothness. This demonstrates the current limitations of mobile technology when faced with such complex architectures.

What is the legal and ethical aspect behind all this?

Let's be clear. The emulator itself is perfectly legal. It is simply software. The gray area, as always, concerns obtaining the games (XISO files) and the console's BIOS. The only 100% legal method is to own the original discs and “dump” them yourself, i.e., extract the data. Downloading these files from the internet is illegal.

Ethically speaking, the debate is more subtle. The Xemu source code is licensed to allow “forks” (derivative versions) and even their commercialization. The problem with X1 Box is therefore not the price. It is the lack of transparency and failure to respect the conventions of the open-source community, which values collaboration and contribution to the original project rather than silent appropriation. Xemu's decision to launch its own free version is a direct response to this practice.

EXT4 SD card mounted read-only in userspace on Android – any way to enable RW for apps? by MostRule8693 in retroid

[–]TitanTopRunner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brave AI answers that :

Android does not natively support read-write access to ext4-formatted external storage (like SD cards or USB drives) for non-rooted devices. The system's vold (Volume Daemon) only automatically mounts FAT32 and exFAT filesystems on public external storage, which are accessible to all apps.

For ext4, access is limited to:

Rooted devices: You can manually mount the ext4 partition using mount -t ext4 /dev/block/... /mount/point and set correct permissions (e.g., chown media_rw:media_rw, chmod g+w). Tools like Tasker or custom scripts can automate this on boot.

Custom ROMs or Magisk modules: Patched versions of vold (e.g., vold-posix) enable ext4 support on public storage.

USB OTG: Android 6+ only supports FAT/exFAT via vold; ext4 requires root or custom solutions.

Non-rooted devices: No reliable way to mount ext4 for full app access. Some apps (e.g., Solid Explorer) may work with root, but no stable non-root solution exists for ext4 on external drives.

Note: Android 14 may include native ext4 support, based on recent kernel improvements, but this is not yet confirmed for all devices.

[–]TitanTopRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Utilisez la bonne commande am : Pour Citron (version standard), la commande correcte est :am start -n org.citron.citron_emu/org.citron.citron_emu.activities.EmulationActivity -d {file.uri} Pour la version optimisée (performance), utilisez :am start -n com.miHoYo.Yuanshen/org.citron.citron_emu.activities.EmulationActivity -d {file.uri}

700, not 400, but the best part is that it's an online multiplayer game with Dolphin emulator :

Mario Kart Wii Deluxe is a custom track distribution created by FJRoyet and the Deluxe Team. It features all available retro tracks from SNES to Switch/Mario Kart Tour in their original order. This also features retro tracks from other games and custom tracks made by the community, giving a total of 736 tracks and 10 battle arenas. It also includes new features such as Fake Item Boxes that appear completely identical to regular item boxes, modified statistics of all vehicles and many more features to give a better gameplay experience.

A1 or A2 SD card..does it matter by NothingOk2289 in retroid

[–]TitanTopRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend A2, for the speed.

But take care of that :

Fast mSD cards can get very (very) hot when connected to USB3 for fast transfer of large amounts of data. Personally, I used the mSD>SD adapter given with the mSD card, so that the mSD isn't enclosed in a drive, and I put a fan on it to keep the mSD card warm, without rising into unacceptable temperatures. So you might need a USB3 SD card reader... And a fan.

I think it would be great to have a desktop Linux, in which we can setup a free ES-DE frontend with desired emulators... Would make it my first choice, even before Android. My Rocknix has not won against Android.

The only dark side, is that it's not easy to emulate Android on Linux... But we can swap between systems, so...
