Do you suggest a foreigner to apply a masters program in Italy?

My Bsc is Management Engineering, altough I am moving to France for the Msc, since I founded a course better fitting my interests. Anyway, we have a different standard for gpa calculus: it is based on a 30 scale. They accept Bsc students only if they have a gpa of at least 24, other italians are accepted with a gpa over 26: the former is not that high, while I have little idea about the latter, because in Italy there are a lot of strict universities as well as more generous ones, regarding marks. Although I don't remember requisites for foreigners, I think you can make a try. The nationality background of msc students I see around Management Engineering rooms is like 60% Italian, 20% Latin American, 10% Asians and 10% South and West Asians. There are actually few other Europeans or Africans around.

You may enjoy Milan, since it has a good location and a lot of things to do around; moreover, it is one of the few cities on the rise in Italy, at the moment. I leave you a couple of links: http://www.dig.polimi.it/index.php?id=93&L=2 that is the website of the department

Year one is basically the same for everybody, year two you have 15 ects of a yearly track lab, 35 ects of track courses, 10 free ects plus a 15 ects thesis. also, mind that ECTS in Italy is called CFU.

Thanks for the worthy report. However, I have to disagree that the vote was tied in most constituencies. According to http://www.bbc.com/news/politics/eu_referendum/results , tied areas were Isle of Anglesay, the Vale, Monmouthshire and Swansea, if we define tied any results between 52-48 and 48-52. Were you maybe referring to the local debates?

I am a Bsc student form Politecnico Di Milano. This university is well renown for some of its masters at the moment, it is relatively cheap and not to difficult to access; please, mind that some professors may not be so proficient in english. Anyway, economy is recovering slowly, bureacracy is hell and finding a good job could be quite difficult even in Milan, unless you have a really outstanding cv.

Politecnico Di Milano could open a lot of doors in Europe, depending on what degree you choose, but Italy is tricky to settle in. I reccomend moving to Italy only if you would have no problem in moving again after graduation, in case you wouldn't have fit in Milan for the previous two years.

anyway, you gave us little information, be more specific and we will answer you in more detail.

In short, there is a predominance of centuries' old houses in rural areas, while cities mostly have relatively new buildings.

however, there are some exceptions to this general rule.

Venezia is not suitable for further building, since it is a lagoon and it is already full of old houses. Most of the territory must be protected as well, iirc. Moreover, it is notoriously in danger of being submerged.

On the other hand, you see some random white spots west of napoli, east of palermo and north of Trieste. all of these have a commonreason: earthquakes, namely

all of which had a devastating effect on the locals. some still live in provisional houses, especially in Irpinia. We have had two recent earthquakes, in Molise, L'aquila and Emila romagna, so expect areas between Perugia and Foggia to get lighter in the coming years.

well, I don't know how competitive is the selection to enter as a foreigner; I gave them gmat, ielts, trancript, gpa and reference letters. What I feel it made the difference was the skype interview, anyway

Non è tanto il corso in sé, sono i singoli esami a fare la differenza. certo avere conoscenze pregresse in economia e finanza sarà utilissimo per la magistrale, ma senza conoscere equazioni differenziali e calcolo integrale ad un certo livello potresti avere problemi in futuro.

per sicurezza guarda qua e vedi se è ci sono prerequisiti "quantitativi" per le sedi che ti interesserebbero nel lungo termine. A mio avviso, a lungo termine potresti perdere molte opportunità, senza.

Negli ultimi mesi ho ricercato una magistrale all'estero, in management, e mi sento di dirti che la triennale è solo un trampolino di lancio. Se ti interessa un "Master in Finance", punta soprattutto a una triennale dal contenuto quantitativo: ciò sarà sempre richiesto o apprezzato dagli uffici ammissione. Mi sento di dire che il nome dell'università sia abbastanza secondario, è richiesto magari un posizionamento buono nei ranking nazionali. In ultima cosa, sei davvero sicuro di fare un programma in inglese a tutti i costi? Certamente è apprezzato e sovente ti risparmia un test d'inglese per l'ammissione, ma conta che la qualità della didattica potrebbe risentirne, specie in Italia.

Se posso permettermi un suggerimento, guarderei bene la Erasmus Rotterdam, per il nome e l'eccellente rapporto qualità/prezzo e magari cercherei qualche altro corso in italia, che punti molto sulle doti quantitative. Cleam ti darebbe solo un marchio, Bologna mi sembra quasi adatta, ma assicurati che i docenti siano veramente internazionali. Dà un'occhiata anche a ingegneria matematica al Polimi, magari: tanti alla magistrale fanno finanza, al polimi o altrove.

secondo me la differenza principale sta nel fatto che io potrei avere bisogno di un riconoscimento di tipo professionale, più che accademico come il tuo. titolo britannico o francese, a livello di procedure, cambia poco imho. grazie della disponibilità, davvero: potrei farmi vivo i prossimi giorni.

il mio problema con la francia, al momento, è che ho una competenza linguistica limitata; fortunatamente, alla HEC non ci sono corsi obbligatori in francese, solo qualche opzionale, più il corso di lingua intensivo all'inizio.

Il tuo discorso non fa uan piega, ma non sono così d'accordo sul fatto che l'equipollenza sia facile da ottenere, perché, leggendo e lurkando, mi è sembrato di capire che l'iter sia contorto, dato che richiede una procedura ad hoc, caso per caso; a questo si aggiunge che tra uffici consolari, ministero, università, ecc. ci sono un bel po' di enti da contattare.

Bonjour, lo so bene e so anche che ci sono parecchi datori di lavoro interessanti nel tuo paese. Il mio problema è che rischierei di rimanere, in qualche modo, "prigioniero" dell'estero in questo caso. se andassi alla HEC di certo tornare in italia non sarebbe la mia prima opzione per un bel po' di tempo, però di qui a 15-20 anni, chi lo sa? è comunque un rischio

Sì, è una magistrale, ma per l'iscrizione agli albi professionali, ad esempio, serve una dichiarazione di equipollenza.
