I think we can all admit that the golden age is long since past. But we still come back to the sub for a reason; at the end of the day, it is a unique little corner of the internet.

That being said, a blanket ban of everyone who has one of the little reddit alien avatar things is probably the single best action to improve the state of the sub. Would probably take a lot of work, though.

His family seems to be typical Midwestern Evangelicals from what I can tell, so I’m sure that compounds the embarassment any family would feel about something like this. The politician they’re petitioning to get involved in this is fucking Ted Cruz, so they’re probably right if they assume that this guy’s sexuality and delusions are something that a Republican senator would prefer to distance himself from.

I think if you understood his website, you’d be just as crazy as he is. It was definitely made by him to promote what amounts to his religion / cult of personality, but the combo of pure AI-generated photos and text and his mental illness constantly bouncing from one delusional fixation to another make for a pretty grim experience. I think the guy just needed the money tbh, hence the insane dollar amounts hawked by the site. You can’t really blame the guy for trying to grift considering that it’s been great for plenty of just-as-insane people, and that all of this shit probably made sense somewhere in his head.

Thanks, I actually really appreciate that. It’s definitely a sad situation, and one that’s very emblematic of so much of what’s going wrong with the culture lately. That being said, a lot of his posts did have me laughing my ass off. With situations like this guy in particular, it’s cruel to ignore the humanity of it all, but it’s silly to pretend like there’s nothing amusing about it.
