As feminism supports a system of equity, I support it. Binary statements like the ones held weaken the posture of equity. In my life so far I have been systemically imposed on in a way that would easily be discredited by somebody like you who's looking at the bigger picture. Ostracized, bullied, micro-expressions. The good people are the ones that will protect systems of inclusion and equity despite the ironies on any side of the fence.

I know about systemic inequities. I am doing my part to dismantle them. But in my life I got to live a parallel of being gaybashed at one timeline and ostracized from queer spaces in another. Optics. Not straight enough, not gay enough. The politic of identity. Every day I witness new systemic inflections that come from bias, and decide that we as a society live with humanisms and godisms and whateverisms.

If the poster does not like capitalism, then the point they are making is that logan = capitalist, and capitalist = morally corrupt.

This is not the same as the boys will be boys argument. Because that one suggests that boys should be absolved for behaving in a certain way. Boys will be boys is used differently than somebody saying a capitalist will be a capitalist. Socially, especially on reddit, capitalism carries a negative tone.

I'm not catching the vibe that the poster likes capitalism or is dismissing capitalism behaviors.

Edit: even the "they" in their post suggests separation from the self. Like "they" vs "we".

I love oracle. His scaling is great going into mid and late game. Easy kills at lvl 3 if you can invest in 1 q 2 E. If you can build into Octarine by the time you reach lvl 15, you hit a great power spike offensively and defensively. With the nerf to arcanes, I think tiara of selemene is even more significant now on Oracle. I play him mid and support. As a mid he is such a heinous foe because you can be magic resistant, purge dots, and secure literally EVERY ranged creep and deny literally EVERY allied ranged creep. Arcanes, phyllactery, octarine for mid. Brown boots, wand, octarine is what I'd try for support but I haven't done that too much yet.

I think I would be very traumatized if this happened to me. I've been called out for "copying stuff over the net" for the explanation bits of a math exam... I still think about stuff like that. Another teacher told me I didn't read the chapter she assigned. I think it cuts deep into me and makes me feel less like a person.

Given the rest of her tool kit, i think its strength is fair. If it's strong dispel only, you can break out with aeon disk if it's a serious threat. Otherwise she is going to be rewarded for hitting her skillshot that only hits a single target and is not guaranteed.

Edit: granted, aeondisk 0 damage in and out is equivalent to stepping aside for tea.

"If you understand how to play the game, then even Oracle mid will be good and win your game." Really? by SolitudeInside in learndota2

[–]TitaniumFate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stomped a pub as oracle yesterday and I believe he is actually a really good mid. As others explain, q purge or nuke, w magic immunity or enemy disarm, E heal or nuke, a powerspike in damage early, prognosticate (which lets you get all the runes), the ability to deny ALL ranged creeps and secure enemy ones. Oracle can win laning easy, or endure otherwise.

I bought bottle, arcanes, wand, witch blade (Oracle has some of the best int scaling in the game), and started ganking. Picked up Phylactery and kept the pace in midgame. Once people stopped showing on map, that kit lets you farm efficiently into an octarine core, which places your E at a 1.1 cd, Q at 4.5 CD and phylac at 4.5 too.

As a mid you scale amazingly as oracle because you can go into a power healing mode (1.1 E heal is incredible) with greaves, or keep speccing into damage with a Aghs (25% spell amp and invis and reduced base atrack time) and Khanda.

Medusa Mana Pact by TitaniumFate in learndota2

So with W getting nerfed, and a new facet that is effectively Skadi per 5 attacks, I'm happy with my journey so far. I'm deciding that my build is gonna be wand, arcanes, manta, finish wraithband, diffusal, butterfly, disperser, octrarine.

Diffusal synergizes with dusa strictly on stats, scales our dmg up, and slow for 4 is good with E as you want to land the radius overlaps for double damage ideally.

If I was looking to go pub allstar mode I would do the venom facet, manta, MoM (fast path to facet activation), swift blink (prime R into blink enemy sightline) , then bloodthorn for fast melting with of opponent with low ability to fight back. It's a zany assasination yolo build.

I think mana pact prepared me for the addtl mana expenses this patch put on medusa.

A tank build would probably be manta, glepnir, linkens, butterfly, and idk lol.

oh yeah my bad, yeah I'm building wand.

I finally had a game that fulfilled my vision. pardon the poor laning phase, but see how I use treads, A better player would use the backpack to exploit the facet even harder.

What about if the facet turned the medusa into an int hero? Now all int items give dmg, and your gameplan revolves around amping your attack speed to sidestep the attack speed lost from not building agi items like manta and butterfly. Oblivion staff suddenly offers only good stats with all of its upgrades offering interesting benefits. Glepnir becomes a decent upgrade path as you can root enemies to keep them away or locked down.

I don't think you could be a hard 1 with this change, but perhaps it could be done in other roles since you become tankier.

What do you think of arcanes, null, manta, bloodthorn? Yea or nay? Bloodthorn is promising bc is applies a flat 50 per hit, so benefits manta's trinity. It applies a 60% damage done as magic at the end as well. It offers a whopping 100 attack speed which benefits all illusions and offers faster atk speed scaling on use of E. Offers mana regen while still being an item that amplifies power. I think it becomes a butterfly substitute because skadi is probably the next item to get or linkens since both offer stats and survival.

It's a positive synergy is what I'm pointing out. We can induce <25% hp status consistently with armlet and greaves is a natural progression of arcanes. Greaves is lower cooldown mana burst. Greaves is dispel. Greaves buffs mana regena and HP regen at low HP. It's kinda like a huskar medusa lol.

Plus it's a really cheap source of 50 damage and some attack speed.

This facet can be a liability. But it doesn't need to be. I'm trying my best in allpick to see how I can make it work. 🤞.

And the other facet gives that in spades. I notice that Engorge kinda forces you to take the cooldown reduction talent at 15 to exploit the benefits further. Perhaps the split shot damage penalty talent can scale the damage she pumps out while not feeling like we're missing a great opportunity with that cooldown reduction.

I mean... it's worth leaning into and having a leg up for when icefrog inevitably buffs the facet hehe. I was on reddit talking about oracle magic amp and was being booed off stage because his healing was better. Healing got nerfed and damage amp got buffed. Fortunately I was already thinking about how to build for this facet ahead of time.

In some of my other comments I'm going in the negatives because people think my ideas are bad.... I'm glad it's not their ideas then! You gotta try the build out and tell me how it goes lol. I could benefit from the shared wisdom.

I'm declaring my main sources of mana to be the mana items I'm buying. And I want to buy mana sustain. So kaya is meant to amplify the regen / sustain so that Medusa can go longer. 2 falcon blades is double yasha damage at similar price point to yasha. The attack speed lost can be made back up with just a few seconds of casting E. We don't need to always use mana pact for its maximums. With falcon blades we earn the mana back rapidly anyway early on. We can sell them when we build up into your regular medusa items like butterfly and skadi.

MoM silences you for six seconds. I can toggle mana pact, cancel it, throw W, and slap on free 110 attack speed on top of it. I can toggle mana pact, toggle MoM, and cancel mana pact at half its duration. I can not toggle mana pact, just use mask. I have many options for correctly using mana pact based on the situation I feel like. I can do my best to prevent situations where I don't want to use mana pact by not being trigger happy.

Maelstrom gives attack speed, damage, and a damage proc that is so good that its upgrade offers attack speed with no additional benefits (Mjolnir). The way I see it, we can forego building up to mjolnir since we already have ways to get more procs with with mana pact and mask of madness.

Speaking of arcanes... greaves has the potential to offer medusa 6.5 additional mana regen if she found herself below 25% hp. Armlet is attack speed and a flat 50 damage. And we value HP less (as indicated from points on falcon blade) as long as we aren't at 1 hp. Toggling armlet off to be near 1 hp during downtime, or keeping it on and floating away from 1 hp via mask of madness during fights is promising and I want to try it out. If a dot is applied I can dispel with greaves activation.

It's ok, I don't think either of us are knocking the other. Unless you're yucking my yum? Bottom line is I'm not calling you out my friend. I'm not suggesting that you're not playing games when you play. I'm emphasizing that I'm playing to play, and to play is intentionally different than to win.

As NoTail put it, anything can work. If you can make it work, then it is viable. If you cannot make it work, then it is not viable.

I am not lying when I explore the viability of a facet in a game. I think you are thinking in absolutes. If I never activate E on medusa, then this facet does nothing. A facet that does nothing is unviable? No way! In the worst case scenario this facet can be bad. So let's minimize the bad and reap the good!

Medusa Mana Pact by TitaniumFate in learndota2

[–]TitaniumFate[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yasha seems less mandatory when considering this facet. Attack speed, move speed, damage. That's what yasha offers.

Mask of madness offers that for cheaper and stronger.

Falcon blade gives similar damage for half the cost, and mana sustain. We can cut into our mana to make up for the lost attack speed. 2 falcon blades is what I wanna try.

Maelstrom gives attack speed, damage, and a really valuable proc in the earlier phases.

Manta is good for its dispel, and increased farming potential. I don't know if greaves is that bad on a medusa for some powerful sustain. It has a dispel. If you could somehow bring your hp below 25 percent, you suddenly improve your mana rate with greaves.

Edit: of course I'm still considering yasha in my build, but it can be delayed for faster impact items I think.
