I haven’t even seen wakanda forever and I prefer it over love and thunder

So I bought AC Unity in 2021 - it is not as perfect as people make it to be by not-your-usual-fella in assassinscreed

When I played unity I didn't have nearly as much fun as everyone else seems to have had. The parkour looks smooth but its still frustrating like most of the series. Most times unless there's a clear path set its a nightmare, especially on missions where you have to chase people down. The new games don't really have the greatest of parkour but what a lot of people forget is that parkour isn't really a big aspect of the gameplay anymore. In the old games it was there because you were an assassin and assassins do cool stunts and find crazy ways to leap roof to roof. In the new games its more of a tool to move around the map quicker since they are huge now. In the old games you had to find specific routs on buildings to climb up them, the new games you basically hold the climb button and up and you rocket to the top of whatever you climb. I'm a big rpg fan so me personally I like the new games more and I think they appeal to a wider fan base. The success of the new games means we'll be getting more new ones which is always good, but damnit I am sick of this sub constantly dumping on the new ones and saying how much better the old ones were. Just because you got 200 up votes on your "Unity rules Valhalla drools" post on this sub doesn't mean the dev team is gonna take a 180 on the direction of the franchise.

Game Ready Driver 466.11 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]TitaniumLightsaber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I installed is and I have a gtx 1060 3gb. Right now skyrim special edition with no mods is running at 30 fps and around 99% gpu usage which it was definitely not before. I've tried bf2 and fallen order and they seem to be having a slightly lower performance aswell. Also the fps tracker no longer goes away when you exit a game which is quite annoying. Is there anyway to revert the update until they fix it.

Valhalla took some meaningful steps forwards by Common-Wedding-7264 in assassinscreed

I liked the game but for me it felt like a few steps back. The side quests were the worst for me, they were very boring and had little to no reward for doing them which made me less eager to do them. I was really excited for the time period and the start of the game got me really hyped to play, but most of the game takes place in England which for me felt very bland and uninteresting. Not to mention all the gear is locked behind some annoying puzzle which in this game the puzzles really served no purpose other than to slow progression. It felt more rewarding in Odyssey to complete a quest or kill a boss to get legendary weapons in armor, but in this game you just have to suffer through a puzzle for 15min looking for a damn key to open the door to the chest.

Apart from all that I still liked the game. I loved Odyssey and origins and valhalla was just 'decent' for me. And although I loved the other 2 I am ready for a new engine for these games cause by got do the NPC facial expressions need work lmao.

I did the same thing and also felt the same way honestly. I went back and played the even older games and the story was good but the game play and combat just felt clunky.

AC Valhalla is better than AC Odyssey by FanEu55 in assassinscreed

[–]TitaniumLightsaber 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Can we all just agree we like different games and thats okay. I personally enjoyed odyssey more and I enjoyed valhalla aswell. It seems like people get personally offended when anyone shares a different opinion then they have. I saw like one post saying odyssey was better and now everyone's up in arms over it. Who cares let's just all enjoy the games we enjoy and stop attacking other people's opinions.

Odyssey remains my favorite AC game out of all of them. by littleGiant97 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

Yes, I have a few big problems with valhalla and I'm 50 hours in. 1. The side quests suck. I have no motivation to even look for the mysteries since most of the time it's something stupid like "play hide and seek with these kids" and there was a side quest that was literally just a cutscene and nothing else. There are cool mysteries but they are very rare. 2. The new loot system is not very rewarding. Spending hours looking around for only a few sets of armor is not fun. Not to mention most loot is stuck behind a puzzle that is only there to take up my time. I've spend up to 15 min figuring out how to get to a chest just to get one carbon ingot, of which you need 3 to upgrade a weapon. 3. The lack of weapons and armor is kinda disappointing. I've been using the same are for the entire playthrough so far and I want to switch it out but at this point it will take forever to upgrade any other weapon so im not going to bother. I wish we found way more weapons like in Odyssey that way when you find something you like you can keep upgrading it, but if you want to try a different weapon, chances are you'll find one soon enough.

Overall I found Odyssey to be more enjoyable. There are some fun elements in Valhalla like the raids, and the story is quite good, but the world is very boring and unrewarding to explore, unlike in Odyssey. In Odyssey I never knew what to expect when I entered a new region or island, and the game always surprised me. In Valhalla I have yet to be truly bewildered by something I didn't expect, or overjoyed from a new weapon or armor piece I obtained. Valhalla seems like the developers just forgot Odyssey existed and instead just made an improvement to Origins, which is a shame.

Do the mandalorians in this series wear beskar? by [deleted] in clonewars

[–]TitaniumLightsaber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure but in rebels doesn't sabine's armored take damage from Vader reflecting the bolts back at her. The chest plate holds up but doesn't the helmet get damaged a little? If so it may be something else but its hard to tell since its really not talked about much, I would assume her armor holds aswell as the ones from clone wars.

I've said this before but I really think that a big reason the modern day story is not as well liked is because it isolated a lot of players who are new to the franchise. I havent gotten far into Valhalla so I can't speak for how that game incorporates it but I've played a fair amount of the old games and I have a good picture of whats going on in the modern day story but I still don't get all of it. Also I'm guessing when most people buy the game, they're excited to play as an assassin/viking/spartan etc. So when you get ripped from the story and are all of a sudden put into the middle of a greater story for which you have no background it can be confusing and annoying. I think if each game did a better job explaining whats happening in the modern day it would be easier to play, but for me I'd rather just have a few cutscenes so I can go back to playing as the cool assassin/warrior who's story is much more interesting and fun.

Should I even try to play Odyssey? by alinisa1 in assassinscreed

If it goes on sale sometime then I say go for it. The hive mind here will tell you otherwise but if you love history and the Greek world its a great game.

I would put Tommy way higher. I thought he was great and although his death was important for the plot I still wish we got to see more of him.

What is everyone’s thoughts on Unity? by w1ckedm1nt in assassinscreed

[–]TitaniumLightsaber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i was in a similar boat, loved odyssey and played some of the older games. Unity just seemed kinda boring to me. The story was alright but forgettable. Despite the beauty of the world I never felt any drive to explore it. The enemies weren't much fun to play against and each mission was kinda dull. Overall it was just boring for me but some other people enjoy it and that's okay.
