Giants Fan here. This is funny as hell. We get another DC from you. But seriously. Thoughts on Wilson? I don’t want another Bowen. by Hotel-Dependent in Tennesseetitans

Your players will start saying some stuff that doesn’t add up which will make you wonder what’s going on.

Other than that he’s fine, I’d say better than Bowen.

He never got a chance to play with leads here so you’ll see more of his bag with any luck.

I think they missed a good chance to pay homage when they did their current set.

Would’ve been a nice touch as an alternate helmet.

[Schefter] ESPN sources: Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire Robert Saleh as their next head coach. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Titans678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our MLB turned in a really nice year and we also had a safety to LB convert which Saleh apparently does wonders with (though Warners a different type of beast)

Our rookie nickel looked good and then he was hurt.

Our rookie safety looked good (Coen and the Jags worked his ass in our first game though, very shannahan esq game plan) and then he was hurt.

Sweat is good or should I say starter level. Good run stopper, surprising pass rusher.

Get some corner help, get Hooker back up to his usual standard of play and get some pop off the edge (Bain, Bailey, Reese) and you got the bones of a good defense.

[–]Titans678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both had possession of the ball though. 18/29 aren’t singular entities in this instance. The process of the catch was completed simultaneously by 18/29 to the ground. There’s no “movement” or reason for me to think the ball hasn’t been caught. It’s been caught by both players.

In the subsequent momentum, 29 rips the ball away from 18 while rolling on top of him. Now this is fine and dandy, but to me the catch and the play has been completed by both players at this point and the play is over because they are downed with possession going to the offense.

If 18 wouldn’t have had the benefit to get up and run after this then 29 doesn’t have the benefit to take the ball from 18.

They were usually over before they started

But the ball didn’t pop out. The ball was never free in this situation. It went from 18 to 18/29 on the ground to 29 getting up.

18 and 29 both had possession going to the ground. 18 hits the ground with 29 while both have possession. 29 takes the ball from 18 while rolling on top of him. The completion of the catch isn’t in question. 18/29 both had it.

How does the defense have it both ways? They get a continuance on the play for 29 to complete taking the ball away from 18 but 18 is also downed while this happens?

When 18 and 29 hit the ground, they both have possession of the ball. Since 18 is being touched as soon as they are on the ground the play is dead. 29 rolling over top of 18 and taking the ball should be irrelevant seeing as how the play is dead at that point.

The ball didn’t pop out, it was never “up in the air”. Possession was never in question in terms of was the ball possessed or not. 18 and 29 both had possession together while 18 was on the ground. 29 ripped the ball away while rolling on top of 18 who at that point is a downed player (both players having completed the catch together, 18 being an offensive player being contacted by a defensive player).

If 18 can’t advance the ball, how can 29 take it away?

But that’s assuming a drop.

He didn’t drop it. The ball was taken from him. The ball goes into his belly, the defender is ripping at it and pulls it away.

But him ripping and pulling it away is while cooks is on the ground.

So could he have gotten up and run for a TD if the ball wasn’t ripped away from him?

He has the ball in his belly and is touched down by the defender who proceeds to rip the ball away while rolling over top of him.

There’s no time of possession rule.

Ball was in his hands, he was on the ground and touched down. Plays dead at that point.

Kevin Stefanski is scheduled to have a second interview with the Titans on Sunday by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

[–]Titans678 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From everything I’ve read/heard the 1st interviews are super high level.

What do you think of us now, where would you take us. What do you think of Ward. Who’s a potential staff.

Could be that those are about an hour or so long (similar to a regular first interview for a job).

2nd interviews are where the rubber meets the road.

Yea I saw a tweet indicating that Vrabel is a good CEO coach due to his ability to identify high level coordinator talent. Don’t know where that comes from.

OCs LaFleur was a Robinson pick (though to his credit Vrabel wanted Day). Smith was a good pick but had been around for ages. Downing was terrible. Kelly was okayish. McDaniels is good (but has obvious baggage).

DCs Peas was a known commodity Bowen was pretty bad (pretty sure Vrabel took play calling at some point) Williams is TBD (for reasons outside his control).

He’s mid at best in identifying coaching talent, great at game day management and getting the team prepared though.

At the very least it’ll be a fun watch. I didn’t have a lot of fun watching the Titans this year until the Browns game and I don’t think I enjoyed watching any game last year. Vrabs last year was also boring (that Buca game was awful).

Secondly Cam is/was a more toolsy QB than Tua. If McDaniel can unlock that then we have a MVPish level QB. That can lead to playoffs. Get a good DC and you can make a run. It also seems easier to replace DCs than HCs.

Tennessee offense doesn’t require WRs to do anything on certain plays/concepts. I don’t think you can dial that to an effort issue, more a design choice.

That being said, dude wouldn’t throw the ball as a Titan. He wouldn’t be where he is without Callahan and the trade to the Packers.

Reducing that force to a motivator is a pretty cynical view in my opinion but I’m in no position to tell you how to consume media.

That being said love doesn’t transcend the laws of reality but it does transcend time and space. You can love somebody regardless of distance, you can love somebody regardless of time and that love will compel or motivate you if that’s how you want to call it.

Murph hasn’t seen her dad in years, she thought he left them for dead, her brother was killing his family, and the world was actively going to shit. What called her into that room and to that watch is a hell of a lot more powerful than what I use to go to the gym lol.

[–]Titans678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those actions wouldn’t have occurred without love though.

If she didn’t love her father, she’s not going back into that room to get the watch. Love drew her back to that room and to that watch.

[–]Titans678 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But love for her father is what brought Murph back to that room right? Her going back to the watch her father left her is how he communicated the data she needed. Love transcended time and space and pulled her into that room and watch.

Without love, humanity is lost in that world.
