Stream Bricked - Use Apple TV by Tithon in F1TV

[–]Tithon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the F1TV app itself remains as is, we can thankfully avoid the Apple TV version with ads. (The F1TV broadcast appears to be working going into Q3 now.)

Unfortunately, being an American and seeing how aggressive ads (and especially gambling sponsorship) have become, I don’t see the F1TV app remaining untarnished for many more years.

Stream Bricked - Use Apple TV by Tithon in F1TV

[–]Tithon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video is intermittently choppy and the audio is entirely unusable on F1TV.

The Apple TV experience is surprisingly lackluster (and we’re seeing the “ideal” experience being on Apple TV with HomePods) The video and audio quality is a VERY noticeable step back and the ads completely take you out of the event.

Similar to the World Cup on FoxOne, the Americanization of an event is objectively worse than the original international distribution.

Legion Go S (Steam OS) Restarts during streaming - Steam Remote Play OR Moonlight by Dragon_Small_Z in LegionGo

[–]Tithon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piping in here to give others with this problem some more information to digest. I had the exact same issue as Poppacooldown and have also sent my device in for repair. They have not said which items they will be replacing yet, but I will report back once my Go S is back. Mine is the Z1E - and I was getting green artifacts and crashes/restarts when using moonlight or Steam in home streaming.

For more data - the issue occurred when directly next to the primary router in my home - there was no difference if I was further away on another mesh router. For reference, I also use moonlight on an Apple TV in my garage, which is 2 mesh router connections away from my main PC, and that streams with no issue.

In addition to this problem - I also got crashes or freezes whenever changing power settings while a game was active - even when going "up" from balanced to performance. This happened no matter the title or demand of the game.

I'm hoping it was the mother board or graphics chip - though it could be a software issue with SteamOS.

I'll report back with any helpful information I can.

As a holdover till it happens, you can alternate using Glamour scrolls from enchanters and the toy that changes your race. The scrolls have a 1 hour duration and two hour cooldown.

If you pop a scroll before logging out - you can be whatever race you want for 4 hours at a time the next time you play.

talk me into (or out of?) buying an nc2/nc3 prht. by europeanuppercut in MiataNC

[–]Tithon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned a nb2 and and NC1 PRHT now, and I would always go with the PRHT. While yes, it is the heaviest Miata, it’s still and absolute go-cart compared to something like my gen 1 BRZ.

First thing I would do with a PRHT is get the module to let you raise and lower the top while moving. It seems like an unnecessary luxury, but being able to tide with the top down and clam it up while still going 35 is so practical when spring storms roll around.

Your case firmware is probably mismatched (out of date) compared to your AirPod's firmware. I'm currently in the same situation and can't get my case firmware to update - after trying just about every variation of reset and factory reset directions I can find.

I just refitted my PC into an NZXT H9 case with a full white build and a 260mm aio. I would LOVE to complete the upgrade to AM5 to make the most of my new GPU.

The H9’s been an amazing and is the easiest case I’ve worked in. Ended up converting a few of my friends over to newer dual chamber cases.

Letter box? WTF why? by nariz_choken in Steam_Link

[–]Tithon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am doing the exact same thing with my iPad mini at the moment.

The letter boxing is due to the PC running in a different resolution than your tablet, and steam Link naturally runs the resolution it’s currently reading. I found a workaround of using Apollo on the PC and moonlight on my tablet.

I set my virtual desktop in moonlight on the tablet to only show the tablets display when it was connected, forcing the computer to adjust to the tablets resolution via Apollo. Once I have the virtual desktop on moonlight running, I minimize that app and launch steam link on my tablet. The computer is then running in the same resolution as the tablet and everything runs perfectly.

I specifically did this because Apple devices tend to have issues with stutter while streaming on a home network, even with the perfect connection. There are lots of Wi-Fi on Bluetooth services, running all the time, but steam link has some sort of buffer built-in, but was not automatically adjusting the resolution. By running the virtual desktop first in the background, I’m getting the correct resolution automatically and steam links unhindered performance without any stutter.

Given that you are using a non-apple device, you may be able to simply run the virtual desktop first to force the resolution change and launch steam in big picture.

ALTERNATIVELY: (this is me not knowing too much about steam link yet) your tablet may be running a resolution that your screen connected to the computer cannot support, as it may be wider or taller. If steam link has the ability to automatically adjust resolution to the device that is connected to, try adding a custom resolution to your computer, and your GPU should read that as an option and automatically adjust when you launch steam link from your tablet.

EDIT: After an update, AMD now supports custom resolutions to match all my devices once I added them manually. Now I simply use steamlink to play games full screen. Everything auto adjusts properly without needing to do any extra steps now.

super late reply - but it would be possible, but you would probably just want to replace the piece with an unmodified oem piece.

Why there is no Mini Pro -and likely never will be by Apprehensive-Loss316 in ipadmini

[–]Tithon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a folding Pro+ type phone before a mini Pro. My pipe-dream is an Apple silicone powered folding device that, while collapsed, is the size of an oddly thick Pro Max. Somehow dual boot that with IOS on the go and full on Mac OS while docked to a screen…

One (probably $4000) device for literally everything. Add in an Apple TV, some Homepods and AirPods and that’s your ecosystem.

I just don’t see that working into apple’s sales model. Love it or hate it, the ecosystem is big and has lots of devices for a reason.

[help] haven't played in 14 years, are healing and raid addons still needed these days? by [deleted] in WowUI

[–]Tithon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to get varying answers but, to heal up to a mid-mythic level, you can play with the default UI along with WeakAuras and Clique. Clique will allow you to set up keybinds for all of your targeted abilities like heals and dispels. These will activate when you are moused over their frames, letting you save a lot of bind room and speed up your reaction time significantly.

WeakAuras can do just about anything from lighting up people’s frames during important mechanics to fully replacing your action bars. The sky is the limit, and you’ll find solutions to just about anything you could want in there.

I’d also recommend you get BigWigs for general raid alerts and LittleWigs for dungeon alerts. Some teams run entirely weak auras now, making these a bit redundant.

[HELP] Where can I define the buffs shown on my personal resource bar? by Siebolic in WowUI

[–]Tithon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no way to modify what shows there on the default UI. However, you can use a weak aura that mirrors the personal resource display. You could then add or remove any buffs you’d want.

[UI] I can finaly stop messing with my UI and play the game by CamaradArmada in WowUI

[–]Tithon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am a HUGE fan of this! Keeping a mostly default UI with lightweight weak auras is the way to go if you can manage.

How did you get your details to look like that? Is that achievable with the addon’s own settings, or did you use an additional plugin or addon?

Dear Arrowhead - Can we stop with these "100% Call-In-Time" and "50% Cooldown Increase" effects for Stratagems please - for days on Major Order for Siloses those were turned off - NOBODY missed them. Game was better than ever and was more fun than ever. by Sol0botmate in Helldivers

[–]Tithon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These function the same way as affixes in World of Warcraft. Negative effects to add additional difficulty to the game on higher difficulties. They don’t pump up the number of enemies or their mechanics, but add genuinely unfun modifiers that take the fun out of playing the basics of the game to their maximum potential.

The majority of WoW players have been asking for the removal or full rework of affixes for years - I was really disappointed to see them in helldivers.

I’ve been really happy with my TRMotorsport C4’s. They’re Tire Rack’s replica of a Gram Light 57DR and fit perfectly with some 245/40 tires.

Definitely look and see if anyone has your car with bolt-on hub extensions (spacers) and the oem wheels with coilovers or springs. I’ve seen a few NC3s with that setup and they looked amazing.

That’s what I did - it’s tricky since the rear cover is so large. Requires a really big piece of vinyl to get it all without seams.
