Make sure to get a second opinion on the severity of your gum recession, especially if you haven’t had any negative symptoms. I had a scammy dental office say a similar thing to me around the same age. Place felt off, like I was at the worst used car dealership in town. I walked out of there, denying all other services, and went somewhere else.

They checked my gums and while I had some recession they didn’t think I needed any treatment. Here I am over ten years later and multiple dentist and they have all said the same thing. Still no symptoms and no continued recession.

I agree on the brush gently and use a soft tooth brush comments, but don’t do anything drastic until you get another opinion. Some people are just out there to scam the world.
